“Cragmere is superbly situated…walk in the front door and see straight through to white balustrades framing a spectacular ocean view of azure and turquoise. Wake in the morning from refreshing sleep on crisp linens, open your door to the fresh breeze and go straight to the crystal clear infinity pool, a few steps away, where you swim with the ocean at your fingertips. What a lovely vacation! The service staff is exceptionally kind, efficient and discreet; Hilda will cook you a fabulous meal with local specialties like flying fish, and Maurva, the manager, will see to your every need like magic. The spectacular Crane Hotel beach is a couple of minutes away…and by the way, the villa’s big kitchen is furnished with top-of-the-line appliances and equipment. Cooking was so enjoyable! Barbados is so welcoming, and Cragmere will make you feel so at ease and so happy to be alive in that beautiful place”

Jeanne Beker testimonial for luxury villa in Barbados“What glamour! From the second I arrived, I was floored by the beauty and drama of this intoxicating property. Besides the fact that the villa is situated on an unspeakably exquisite piece of this brilliant island, the layout of the house and its elegant decor put me in a fabulously relaxed frame-of-mind, as though I’d finally been able to realize one of my wildest, most decadent fantasies… as though I’d finally come home to a place of luxurious peace and ultimate inspiration. This villa experience definitely put a big dollop of high style into my life!”

Amanda Lang testimonial for luxury villa in Barbados“Our stay at Cragmere couldn’t have been better. The house is set in the most idyllic of locations, completely private with a spectacular ocean view yet within easy walking to the busy and fun Crane Hotel complex as well as local restaurants we came to know well. Cragmere itself is enchanting, beautifully designed and appointed, and obviously carefully maintained. We were also very well looked after by the house manager, Carolyn, who took care of everything from groceries in advance of our arrival, to picking us up at and dropping us back to the airport. We ate in several times thanks to the house cook, who came at our request and served us delicious fare. I can’t recommend Cragmere highly enough for any traveller who is discerning, appreciates privacy but wants the option of exploring as well. Thank you for making our vacation so memorable! We are counting the days til we are back.”

This beautiful story was sent to us from friends who have been visiting Barbados and the Crane Beach for numerous years, we wanted to share it…
“We wanted to share our reasons for the love of Barbados and it’s people.
Our first visit to Barbados was in the early seventies, when we rented a Villa at Sunset Crest. Two return visits to the same area. We were then, invited by my cousin Dora Flynn to spend three different times with her in Cattlewash. Each year, Dora spent six months in Cattlewash, and 6 months , at her home in New Brunswick, spanning a period of 25- 30 years. She truly loved this Island and made a study of it’s history. Cattlewash has now become our little bit of Heaven, and we have enjoyed bringing, and introducing special friends to the Island we love. We jokingly tell our local friends to keep the East Coast secret.
Over and above our need to leave Nova Scotia during the Feb/March cold period, and to come to the perfect climate, it’s the friendliness of the people, that is the magnet that brings us back.
There would be too many incidents and happenings during our frequent stays that reflect the kindness and warmth of the people. However we must make mention of a few.
During a church service in Bathsheba, it was common for an extended hand from behind to find the right page in our the prayer book.
– The school uniforms, bright, shining faces and obvious good manners.
– The forgiveness for making a wrong turn once it was noticed we drive a Hire car.
– Cheapside market shopping for figs. None to be had at any stall until one vendor who had purchased some for herself, told her husband to sell them to my wife at the same price she paid for them , rather than to make a profit.
– One final loving memory, was years ago while traveling on a bus with school children, an older sister had the hand of her younger sister as they passed by our seat. The younger girl, (4 years old) accidentally rubbed my wife’s leg. The older girl brought her back saying to her ” mind your (URL HIDDEN) which the child said”excuse me”. How delightfully refreshing is that!!
The overall courtesy shown to each other on the busses was obvious. For example, the younger standing to give the elders a seat.
Historically we Nova Scotians, have in trade sent lumber and salt cod, taking back rum and molasses. We think today that we have gotten the better trade! Mount Gay rum is second to none!!!”

Steeped in history, culture and tradition the island exudes a natural charm which is uniquely Bajan. Many visitors are often pleasantly surprised to see the ease with which the new fits almost effortlessly with the old – modern facilities seem at home in sleepy villages.
