Comfy, rustic, one bedroom cabin with private deck overlooking forest. Gardens and ponds separate cabin from our cottage. A separate path leads to cabin. Short drive to beaches, lakes, hiking trails and famous Ruckle Provincial Park. Favorite hangouts nearby: eclectic Kizmit Galleria/coffee shop, Heather's woodfired bakery, Tony's Tarts (all open April thru November) and Salt Spring Cheese. We are in the quieter, rural part of the island. Lively Ganges is 20 min. drive.
This self catering cabin is ideal for two adults with one queen bed. Kitchen is complete with full electric stove, bar fridge, pots and crockery. There is a sink, shower, flush toilet. There is a comfy couch (double hide-a-bed) and gas fireplace in the small living room. Your first breakfast includes 4 fresh eggs (from the property's chooks), bagels, butter, jam, coffee, tea, cream and fruit. Big windows and private deck view the forest and gardens on this sunny southwest piece of paradise. We have Wifi but reception can be spotty or slow; this is the country. Cell phone coverage is very spotty on this island. It is good from here. The cabin and yard is not kiddie proofed. Sorry no dogs as there is a sheep farm next door and we have chickens.
Guests park at top of driveway to right of cedar gate. The cabin has a separate pathway on outer edge of garden. You have your own deck, which is quite private.
The gardens, chickens and dog keep us busy so we are always around and therefore more than happy to meet and greet. We are happy to recommend local "must sees".
Fulford Harbour (about 15 min. away) has a small licensed grocery which closes at 8 pm, Rock Salt restaurant and some funky shops. Buy fresh produce at the many farm stands (cash only). Ganges (25 min. away) has two large grocery stores, government liquor store, health food store and gas stations, pharmacy, restaurants, clothing stores etc.
Bring hiking boots, swim suits. Swimming lakes 10 minutes away. Excellent kayak launch beach just down the road with Russel Island Marine Park a short paddle away... Bring a petzel or flash light for dark nights, there are no street lights.
There's nothing more romantic than sipping an excellent glass of wine, overlooking a forest under the moon and stars, with the chorus of frogs and, if your lucky, owls for company...

Just four years ago our property was wilderness and now it's a garden paradise with all the buildings hand built by the family, using the trees from the land and locally available materials.
We are deeply entrenched in living the good life where health, love, nature, music, art, literature, good food , wine all abound.......
