The Blue Room accommodates two with a king size bed, and private south-facing private terrace furnished with a daybed for lounging, and table and chairs for work. Or choose the Green Room, with a queen size bed, and east-facing sliding glass door that opens onto a private garden patio with a lovely shaded sitting area and south facing chaises for sunbathing. The shared bath is down the hall and either room provides full cable tv and wifi. (The City of Palm Springs ID#3657)
Need a place to stay for 4th of July? Palm Springs Film Festival? Gay Pride? Thanksgiving? Christmas and New Year's? Or perhaps you just want to get out of town for a weekend? Welcome to Casa Cerritos, a Bed and Breakfast experience catering primarily to gay men. Experience the relaxing atmosphere of life in the Desert, as well as the exciting events and entertainments of the Palm Springs season from the comfort of this well-appointed, conveniently located private home just minutes away from Palm Canyon, Arenas, and the heart of the downtown shopping and nightlife in central Palm Springs. We're also right next door to the famous (or infamous!) Movie Colony, home to the stars.
Imagine yourself basking (or frolicking) in the natural outdoor beauty and hedged privacy of the huge backyard - swaying palm trees, a large rock-edged swimming pool and jacuzzi, and a million dollar view of the mountains. Sip your morning coffee or tea and take breakfast in the walled front terrace, in our informal breakfast room, in the cool morning air of the back porch, or even under the palms beyond the swimming pool. Spend the rest of the day taking in the rays or swimming and soaking in the clothing optional pool and jacuzzi. (If you are staying during the colder winter months and want a heated swimming pool please ask about the heating surcharge.)
It's 5 o'clock somewhere? Join us for hors d'oeuvres, cocktails, and conversation in the sophisticated comfort of the main salon with its mirrored fireplace and a magnificent view of the mountains - or perhaps outdoors by the pool. After dinner, feel free to join us, along with any other guests in residence, in the large media room for a little television or a movie from our extensive DVD library or online Netflix. Special requests for TV shows, movies, or music? Just ask.
Time for bed? Enjoy the extremely comfortable queen size bed and quality linens in the Green Room; or choose the king size bed in the Blue Room. For early risers, the east-facing sliding glass door of the Green Room opens onto a private walled terrace and provides lovely morning light that highlights the original artwork decorating the walls of the bedroom. Alternatively, the floor-to-ceiling vertical blind curtains allow for sleeping in late. The room is also furnished with nightstands, a reading chair, and additional drawer/cabinet space in the closet, as well as premium cable television and wifi internet. Six steps away at the end of the hallway is the recently re-done contemporary shared bathroom, with combined shower/tub.
So much for the Bed - now for the Breakfast. Want a full English or American style breakfast? Or perhaps a lighter Continental breakfast? Just let us know your preferences. In fact, if you have any particular preferences while you are our guest, we would like to know what they are. Have a favorite snack, hors d'oeuvres, or cocktail? Let us know and we'll stock them. Like orchids but allergic to daisies? Let us know and we'll get it right. Need advice on where to find the best hiking trails? Bicycles for rent? Bars? Restaurants?
We'll do our best to help answer all your questions.
As your host, my goal is to make your visit as pleasurable as possible so that you will want to come again and again - and recommend us to your friends. Indeed, after staying at Casa Cerritos I hope you will feel like you've been staying with good friends.
Guests are welcome to make use of the public areas of the house, including the breakfast room and main salon, as well as the large back yard and pool area. We operate as a classic English style home bed and breakfast, consequently there is limited access to kitchen facilities: feel free to make coffee and tea, toast, cereal, etc., or to store drinks and leftovers in the fridge on a space available basis. There is also a microwave for reheating leftovers. In general, however, guests are expected to take lunch and dinner out unless other arrangements have been made and general cooking facilities are not provided.
Due to the nature of a home bed and breakfast guests are encouraged to interact with each other and with us, their hosts, as much as they desire. We strive to achieve the feel of a weekend house party for friends, while at the same time respecting any guest's desire for privacy.
Due to the nature of our primary clientele and insurance liability issues and state regulations concerning access to the swimming pool we are NOT able to accomodate children. Each room accommodates only two people per night.
For those who are used to highly controlled household temperatures, please note that in the Desert we try to take advantage of the wonderful climate, though with certain restrictions during temperature extremes as we try to balance comfort with economy. In Spring and Late Fall we do our best to keep the house open to the breezes as much as possible. The thermostat is set at 78 degrees Fahrenheit when the central air is on and at 68 degrees when the central heating is on. In winter and early spring we often have the fire place in use, though as much for ambience as for heating purposes.
For pet lovers, please forgive but we are unable to accommodate pets; as for smokers, smoking is only permitted across the pool from the house.
Non-smoking, illegal drug-free house
No glass in the pool area
Appropriate respect for fellow guests and neighbors
Clothing optional pool and jacuzzi (when all guests are male)
Pets not allowed
We are NOT set up for families with children
Kitchen access is available for limited purposes but general cooking privileges are not provided
