The block of flats is built around a "plaza" with stores and restaurants, convenient for meals. The distance to subway is as described, 8 minutes long or so, which is fine. However, Line 13 where the flat is based is slow and the stops are long. The online description of the location slightly confused me because I assumed it's on the same line with the Olympic park, but it wasn't and the park is nowhere in sight. Actually the area around the flat, except the plaza is not great, there's nothing to do around there and you can't really go for a walk, it's because it's a new neighbourhood I guess. For this reason make sure you have a proper map with you and the clear address written if you catch a taxi because I had some unfortunate adventures - taxi drivers didn't know where the place was even when I showed them the address in Chinese.
The block and flat was new, with a big wall wardrobe, a flexible small table and a huge bed, as described; a nicely, modern decorated flat. The only big downside for me was the level of bathroom cleanliness. I have mentioned this issue in my first morning at the flat and the bathroom was cleaned that day, but it was still below the level I expected (and I am not a fussy person).
I have never met Levin, who was working night shifts, but I met his mother. She speaks English, she was helpful whenever I asked for help and she was kind enough to wait for me at the subway on the first night when my train was delayed.
Overall, it's a decently priced room, in a decent area and a modern flat with easy access to subway, and it's ok for a couple of days. However, if you are like me, travelling and working from home and you need to spend quite a bit of time indoors for over a week, might not be the best place.
