This cozy and spacious 1 bedroom apartment is fully furnished. Queen size bed, spacious living room with a comfy La-Z-boy couch and recliner, 48" smart TV and a fully equipped kitchen. This place is only a 10 min ride away from the Minneapolis Convention Center and right in front of the Minneapolis Institute of Arts (MIA). Eat Street (Nicollet Ave) is 4 blocks away. Enjoy exploring Downtown and Uptown by bus or bike! ---There's a Nice Ride station in the MIA!
My living room couch is not a sofa-bed but you are welcome to sleep in it. It's super comfy! If you wish to accommodate a third guest or wish to sleep separately, I can also provide a queen size air mattress if told in advance.
About my building, if you're a nature lover, you'll be amazed by how many squirrels can climb up the window ivy! And since every neighbor has a piece of garden in the backyard, you'll be able to catch some of the hare nibbling on some neighbor's lettuce!!! Add that plus 2 free-access grills in the middle and you'll feel in heaven! This is a nice peaceful place to stay.
As for the apartment, I'm sure you'll appreciate the north view of Minneapolis. Watching the skyline at sunset is just breath taking! I've got a cozy couch, which its middle cushion folds down to create a convenient table with 2 cup holders and a recliner that's guaranteed to make you fall asleep on the spot! The bedroom has a charming antique vanity and a comfy queen bed. Leave the blinds half open and you'll wake up to the first rays of sun and the chirps of the lovely birdies from the backyard! I usually do that on the weekends and it's the best way to wake up and feel grateful for such a wonderful day to come!:)
You are welcome to cook as much as you like in my kitchen and take as many luxurious baths in my tub too! I provide bath salts, massage oils and a Bluetooth speaker in case you feel the need for some relaxation time!
You can use anything in the apartment! Canned food or groceries in the fridge, shampoo, soap, pads/tampons, body lotion, extra sheets, wifi... you name it! Anything that you find at your sight is for you to use. I just ask that you take care of it as if it were your own.
The grills in the backyard are free to use at any given time without having to book a date or time.
I usually send my guests an email a few days before their arrival to address their concerns and provide them with my emergency contact numbers as well as my neighbors'.
I will be traveling for most of the available dates on my calendar, though sometimes I will be in town and welcome you myself. If I'm not able to meet you personally, I'll have my lovely next door neighbor or my best friend open the door for you and provide you with a set of keys. You'll be able to call me or my neighbor at any time if you have an emergency or trouble getting around town.
Some people have asked me if I can lower the cleaning fee or instead have them clean the apartment.
I would like to clarify that since I'm mostly out of town when I rent my apt, I hire a cleaning service that takes care of washing the bed sheets and towels, as well as doing dirty dishes, cleaning the bathroom and the kitchen after each guest leaves. I always try my best to keep a high quality of hygiene in my apartment, so my guests can feel comfortable and actually enjoy staying there.
I want my guests to feel as comfortable as they are at home without worrying about using something dirty. Therefore I can't give you a discount on the cleaning fee. I also encourage you to give me constructive feedback on the level of cleanliness you saw when you entered the apartment since I'm not there sometimes to do quality control.
This is a smoke- and pet-free building, so please don't make me get into trouble with management!!!
I would also like to clarify that the washers and dryers are not in my unit, but in the building basement. You can access them through the courtyard with the set of keys that is given to you. Each load is around a $1.25
I have several plants around the apartment, which need to get watered every other day. It's up to each guest if they want to commit to watering them or if they don't mind me or a friend stopping by for a few minutes to do so. If you are not comfortable with me or someone else coming in during your stay, let me know before you arrive so I can give them to someone who can take care of them in the meantime. I also have a desk with a wireless printer in my living room, which you're welcome to use.
There's no problem having friends over or having a party, but please keep it down after 10pm on weekdays and after midnight on weekends. Just let the neighbors know and maybe invite them too!!! They're all very outgoing and friendly!!!
This is my home and I treat it with respect and love, so I also expect my guests to leave everything as it was found, meaning that all the furniture has to be in its place and any mess on the floor or furniture has to be cleaned and picked up after. If you spill anything on the microfiber couch, please grab a damp paper towel to clean it. I promise it won't take more than 5min of your time! Thanks:)
I'm a fan of traveling to new destinations every year and ever since I started working in the Twin Cities, I've had the chance to do so even more! I'm originally from Costa Rica, so I know what it is to be away from home and just want a comfortable space to settle in at a reasonable price!
The dates that the apartment is available for rent is when I'm traveling, so unfortunately I don't think we'll be able to meet in person, but I guarantee you will love my cozy apartment!
During your stay, even if I'm traveling, I am available 24/7 for any requests or problems you might have. I usually check in on my guests once they've settled in and a day or two before they leave, just to make sure they are having a pleasant experience. I have a great circle of neighbors that are super nice and friendly, who will also help you out with any needs.
Please feel free to read any of the books I have on my coffee table, enjoy a movie from Netflix or HBOgo on my Apple TV, cook all you want in my kitchen or grill outside in the summer or take a hot bath after a long day of sightseeing.
I assure you, you won't regret it!
