Welcome to The Wild Side! Tropical gardens surround our lovely casitas. With a kitchen, outdoor dining, Wifi, hot water, fan, hammock, mosquito nets and queen bed. You feel the jungle all around you but are perfectly situated to enjoy the beach too. We are just 200 meters from the beach
Our houses are simple, clean and in harmony with nature. There is an outdoor kitchen for romantic breakfasts or dinners on the veranda. We have quiet surroundings and many animals right in your own yard. You can see sloths, agoutis, toucans, kinkajous, monkeys and many marsupials. We are on hand to help you with whatever you may need but we never invade your space.
We have direct beach access. There are few beach access roads along the coast so this is an important feature for those who want to walk down to the beach without having to bike or drive. We are an enjoyable bike ride to town for nightlife and souvenire shopping. Restaurants and grocery shopping are just five minutes away.
We are always readily available for questions and information but we absolutely respect your space and privacy.
We have a total of three casitas
Quiet respectful travelers only
No loud music allowed
No outside guests allowed
No loud talking or yelling after 9:00pm
Please print out or save directions to the house. Your shuttle or taxi driver should know where we are but it is important for you to know as well. Please don't rely solely on gps. If you choose to arrive very late (after midnight) you will have to let yourself in.
My name is Lara and, together with my husband Eric, we have created The Wild Side. We wanted something different than what we normally find while travelling in Costa Rica. We wanted to offer an affordable stay, but it be at the same time elegant, simple, and, above all, clean. Our concept is geared toward single travellers or couples who want a quiet place to rest, a kitchen to prepare meals, and a base to enjoy what the area offers. We are very lucky to live in one of the most perfect locations along the coast. Our houses are literally minutes from unspoiled, empty beaches. Most people tell us that they see more animals in our own yard than in the national parks!
Originally I am from Savannah, Georgia, and Eric is from Sitges, Spain. We are both dedicated surfers and enjoy the peace of natural living.
I work as a hairstylist in my own jungle salon. Eric is an artist/woodworker..his handmade wooden toys can be found in specialty shops in Puerto Viejo.
