1 of 2 double rooms to rent in my 3 bedroom modern ground and first floor duplex with a south facing private garden. It's a few hundred metres from the historic Glasgow Green and a few minutes walk from the bars and restaurants of the Merchant City.
• Bright spacious, south facing double bedroom.
• Bright spacious, south facing open plan living dining kitchen opening straight onto a private secure south facing garden.
• Very close to Merchant City
• Ideal for Commonwealth Games (profile is new 18.02.14 so bear with me while I research what I should do for that - open to offers while I research).
Update: lots of enquiries about the Commonwealth Games in the few hours since posting the ad. Apologies for slow responses - I will update over the next couple of days.
There are three bedrooms in total. My room is ensuite and the main bathroom would be shared if both of the other rooms are occupied. There is an additional ground floor WC and sink (if the upstairs bathroom is occupied).
I'm not sure yet having not done this before! I'll meet you and show you around. I'll help with arrival if possible too (if I'm out in the car I can swing by the airport if the timing works or if it's an evening I could possibly meet you from the station as I work very close by). I do work quite a lot so at times I may not be around. I love meeting new people so I believe I'll be a good host. When I travel with business I often stay in hostels for that reason (this place is nicer than most hostels though and there are no dorms!)
I would consider a full flat rental - price to discuss and will definitely be open to offers for the Commonwealth Games period.
Just be cool?
I hate writing rules but it says I should…...
No smoking inside - the garden is fine so long as you bin your butt (I wonder how that translates!)
The floors are real hardwood and heels mark it so if they can come off that's great (I have the floors regularly cleaned and polished so your feet will be fine)
I'm Marc. I'm from Ireland but have been living in Glasgow for over 10 years now having previously lived and worked in Australia, Germany, Sweden and Ireland. I've travelled relatively extensively to other parts both with work and on holidays / gap-year.
I'm an architect with my own small merchant city shopfront studio and I also teach architecture at The Glasgow School of Art, which I love.
I'm into lots of sports including snowboarding (over 900cm of snow right now), surfing (yes, even in this cold country) and mountain biking (it's world-class here). I also play gaelic football and as a result suffer many injuries.
I love meeting new people.
