We built this gorgeous wood-sided two-story home ourselves on an acre of wooded property up in the White Mountains of Arizona. Elevation is 6500' so temperatures average 25 degrees cooler than Phoenix or Tucson. Privacy abounds on this large lot!
It's a quiet, large wooded lot at the end of a private, dirt road. The house is decorated with a northwoods theme. The Great Room has a dramatic eighteen foot ceiling. The master bedroom upstairs has a gas fireplace and a private bathroom with Jacuzzi tub. Downstairs has a wood burning fireplace and large tv. There is a covered porch, complete with a swing in the front and a screened porch in the rear. A small balcony is off the master bedroom upstairs. There is no Wi-Fi, but Verizon service works well. We do accept dogs, but will be charging a non refundable fee of $25 per dog.
NEW!!!! Two new kayaks with gear now available for guest use!!! Guests will have access to the entire home. Horseshoes, darts, ping pong and baggos are all fun games available to guests. There is a wonderful walking trail across the street, a golf course about a mile away, and a lake close by. Guests may use our canoe and kayaks for a fun time on the lake. Downtown Show Low is only a mile away! Also, indoor activities provided are movies, puzzles, and games. The loft has an HO scale model train setup. Please play responsively!
We will be in our tiny house on the back of the property so guests will be able to interact with us if they want, but your privacy will be totally respected.
People usually come up here from Phoenix or Tucson to get a complete change of pace in a cooler, Ponderosa Pine community. Dogs are welcome, but there is now an added $25 a dog charge for your stay.
We'd appreciate no smoking inside the home and reasonable respect in the care of this new, beautiful home. We have cats so there is a cat tower and a cat door leading to the screened porch. Dogs are ok, but there is now a $25 per dog charge for your stau. We built an HO scale train set in the loft that may be enjoyed with care and supervision.
I'm a lover of life and this amazing earth! The White Mountains offers such a great way to unwind, enjoy nature, and feel grounded again. I'm a retired teacher and a writer of children's books who loves people. My husband, Pete, and I built this house ourselves! That's why we want to share our beautiful home so you, too, can experience this wonderful place!
