My one bedroom flat is tucked away in cool Peckham. Enjoy a fire after a busy day or a quiet morning in the secluded garden. Minutes away from trains and bus routes that lead to the centre or stay local and see what the Peckham buzz is about!
The bedroom has a king-size bed and there is a sofa-bed in the lounge that can be turned into a single or double bed. This is suitable for families with children, or close friends who do not mind sharing a small space for a few days. It might be less than ideal for people needing more privacy.
A Cook's Home
I am a chef and my house is equipped for all your cooking needs. I love when guests make good use of the kitchen and make themselves at home. There is a cold marble counter for pastry work, a professional stand up mixer, a Magimix, every baking tin you can think of, numerous cooking books for you to read and various sourdough starters fermenting on the shelves. Feel free to use whatever you like. If you need something just ask away, it is probably somewhere!
Originality and Style
I am passionate about art, design and antiques, you will find many nice bits around you. I believe objects are for using and life is for living..I am not too precious about my belongings but please be respectful, each object has its unique story, my aim is to share these stories with my guests as much as I can.
The Fenwick Gallery
As guests kept asking to buy some of the artwork I collect, I decided to start a project called The Fenwick Gallery, in which I ask artists and designers I like to showcase their work. This project is only aimed to promote the work of artists I like, I do not profit from this except for the fact that I have the honour to host these objects at home.
At the moment I am hosting 9 small framed collages of German artist Weegee Weegee and a wooden table lamp by super talented Peckham-based designer Hendzel+Hunt. There is a folder in the flat with information on how to contact the artists in case you are interested in purchasing these wonderful things.
The flat has a secluded garden, this is shared with my awesome neighbours who live in the two flats upstairs. We have built a garden terrace too that overlooks the garden and there is a grill available to use.
A bbq or a bottle of bubbly on the grass in a sunny summer day can be a thing to remember.
I am a chef and my kitchen is very well equipped with all sorts of geeky stuff. I love it when my guests use it to cook their meals (and send me pics). If you need anything in particular just ask, I probably have it!
There is also a washer, a dryer and an iron if you need to freshen up your power suit or party clothes..
Unless I am travelling I always try to greet you in person and give you a good tour of the flat upon arrival. If I am not in town Karen, who I know and trust blindly will take care of the cleaning and welcome you. I am always available if you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact me at any time.
Superfast free Wi-Fi is available, however please note that there is no television and as it is a basement flat, mobile phone reception can be patchy at times.
There is one very basic rule in place at mine: Treat my home as you would treat yours and be nice to my neighbours.
Smoking inside is not allowed but the garden has chairs and ashtrays so you can smoke away.
I am an Italian chef and long term resident of London. I have lived in Peckham for many years now and have seen my neighbourhood flourish to one of the most exciting and creative hubs in London with new restaurants, cafes, art galleries, radio stations, artist studios popping up every day.
I love pork, music, whisky, cinema, travelling around the world and meeting people from all sorts of backgrounds. London amazes me every single day and I am here to share my enthusiasm for this city with you.
I have a creative mind and I respect radical thinking and originality. I think my place reflects that in many ways. I value honesty, kindness and generosity a great deal. I think Airbnb exemplifies all of these values and I feel very honoured when people choose my place for their stay in London.
I know a lot about the food scene and what is happening in the arts so if you need insider tips in that area, I will be happy to help. I have a busy schedule so sometimes my partner helps me with welcoming the guests, in either case we always make sure you feel at home and get the most out of your stay.
