The Chapel is large and characterful, and is perfect for families and groups. With 3 large bedrooms, and the addition of a bed settee and 2 portable beds, it can accommodate up to 10 adults easily, particularly as each bedroom has its own ensuite. The 40 foot sitting room has a full size American pool table, large tv, Wii, xbox 360 and baby grand piano.
The prices quoted are per night but only relate to short breaks. Please contacte me for cheaper weekly deals.
The Chapel is a very spacious and family friendly holiday property. The sitting room is approximately 40 foot long with a full size American pool table, 4, three seater sofas and a baby grand piano. The open plan kitchen on the first floor is perfect for entertaining, with a breakfast bar and an oak table that can easily seat 12 guests. The large first floor bedroom has a king size 4 poster bed, high ceilings and a chandelier. Both bedrooms on the second floor have 6 foot super king zip link beds, which can be divided into single beds. All bedrooms have their own en suite and are large enough to be able to accommodate additional portable beds - of which we have 3, and with the new leather chesterfield bed settee in the sitting room, The Chapel can easily accommodate up to 10 guests. In additional to The Chapel, there are also 2 one bedroom cottages within the historic grounds of Manston Court which are both able to sleep up to 4 adults. Many guest hire all three properties for special family occasions or holiday, and together they are able to accommodate up to 18 guests.
The Chapel has a Gold 4 Star rating from Visit England (quality in tourism).
The Chapel has its own private fully enclosed garden which is perfect for outside dining or relaxing. There is also a private hard surface play area the size of a tennis court, which has its own basket ball net, and can be used by any of our guests.
Our family live at Manston Court, next to The Chapel, Annie's Cottage and Well Cottage, and will be there to welcome you and show you around. We hope you enjoy staying in our lovely properties, and will do all we can to make it really special for you.
And just to let you know, sadly we aren't able to accommodate pets.
At Manston Court we have 3 holiday properties. Annie's Cottage sleeps 2 - 4, Well Cottage sleeps 2 - 4 and The Chapel sleeps 6 - 10, so if you would like to come and stay here you can also bring family and friends (if you have to!). It's perfect for family gatherings and celebrations, or just to have a memorable family holiday where everyone can be catered for.
Also there are lots of free events during the year in Thanet from Dickens Week in July and Folk Week in August both in Broadstairs, to international volley ball tournaments on the beach at Margate, just to mention a few. You can see exactly what's going on locally when you go to the Visit Thanet website. And for something quite spectacular you can even watch the Red Arrows do their air display at Margate from almost anywhere in Thanet, and if you don't see them you can certainly hear them! And you can take a closer look at the planes when they are parked at Manston Airport where they frequently practice before the event. Why not come and see for yourself.
Although we don't allow smoking in the house, we do do our best to accommodate smokers who are welcome to smoke outside. We even provide an umbrella and an ash tray, and appreciate you not smoking in the house.
Thank you in advance for respecting our property and leaving it in a good condition, and a big thank you in particular for those who strip the beds and take out the rubbish!
And finally, apologies to those who have pets who would like to bring them along too. Although we love animals, occasionally we host guests who have allergies to animals, and we now find it easier not to have them, but we do hope you find some where suitable and have a great time.
My husband and I and our 4 children live at Manston Court, where we also have 3 holiday properties which we manage as a family.
The property is grade 2 listed and is a place of historical importance, some parts being 13th century, some 15th century and the really new bits are 18th century! It's been great bringing up a family in such a lovely building and with a lovely large garden, which apparently is perfect for playing 'murder in the dark' with your friends!
In 1996/7 we decided to turn Well Cottage and Annie's Cottage into holiday accommodation. It became so popular that in 2009 we decided to convert The Chapel which was a former Medieval Hall House (circa 1190), also into holiday accommodation, and being much larger it could cater for large families and groups. That too has taken on a life of its own, and now we often have extended families and groups hiring out all 3 for special family occasions or holidays.
We really enjoy making things as nice as possible for our guests, and then seeing them all have a great time together - that's what inspires us to keep going. Many return year after year and often bring friends and family as well. And now that we have - almost - the perfect routine for cleaning and changing over the properties, 3 of our children have left school and university and have jobs, and the baby is off to uni! So it looks like it's on to plan B.... We actually enjoy doing it so much that I don't ever see us giving up. It is an amazing place to live and a great place to work, and it is so much nicer to share and see others really enjoying it.
