Comfortable upstairs room with private bath and sitting area in the lovely Garren Creek area. Perfect for cyclists, motorcyclists and anyone looking for a quiet place off the beaten path. We are centrally located between Asheville, Black Mountain and Lake Lure and we are within 10 miles of the Florence Nature Preserve if you love to hike. There are several other places of interest in the local vicinity and we're only a short 20-minute ride to Asheville.
Our house is built into a mountain swale and is located in scenic Garren Creek, which is centrally located between Asheville, Lake Lure and Black Mountain. The property, which was featured in 2016 as a "Home of the Week" in the Asheville Citizen-Times, is a perfect location for bicyclists and outdoor enthusiasts or anyone just looking to have a bit of weekend escape in the rolling countryside of Garren Creek.
We offer a private room and tiled bath, along with a large bonus room, work space and sitting area. You are welcome to store cold items in our refrigerator and to reasonable use of our kitchen facilities. There is plenty of secure free parking, along with an enclosed space to hang bicycles and backpacks. We also offer sheltered parking on a concrete pad for guests who are traveling by motorcycle.
Someone is always on the premises to answer any questions you may have or just to offer you a nice hot mug of Irish tea and a delicious homemade snack. The upstairs is completely private and you won't be bothered by any unwanted interruptions, only the sound of the nearby creek as it passes below your windows.
We run an Irish house. No one ever leaves hungry or thirsty.
We are very quiet people and the house and area lends itself to a serene and peaceful atmosphere. We do not have TV, but we do offer password-protected Wifi access for the convenience of our guests. Our two Scottish Terriers (Jack and Charlie) are great security against bears and other wildlife and they take their guard duties very seriously.
We live in the Asheville, NC area in a little community called Fairview. We have no children, but two Scottish Terriers that we adore. We love to stay in homes where people keep pets, as we love animals of all kinds. We also love antiques and have filled our home with odd collections of interesting objects, vintage books, artwork and Irish ephemera.
