Welcome to our home! Our style is Mission eclectic...if it tickles me I bring it home...especially the art. A relaxing place to unwind after a day exploring the amazing Hudson Valley. We offer 4 clean, comfortable bedrooms with queen and full beds, 3 full baths, 2 fireplaces, 1 hot tub...a great floor plan with wide open halls, over-sized living room, dining room to hold a crowd and a kitchen for a cook. Laundry if you let us know ahead of time. All set on a pretty semi-private acre on a close to everything cul-de-sac. Plenty of parking, wi fi . Wood floors are alergy friendly but know we have 2 loving cats that we keep out of the guest rooms.
We are in a residential area but only minutes to the great restaurants of Front Street at the river, world class shopping at Woodbury Commons, West Point, Dia, and Storm King Art Center. Historical sites like Washington's headquarters, Fort Montgomery and Fort Clinton and the Purple Heart Museum. Great hiking with well marked trails and amazing views, Kyaking, fishing, biking, mountain biking; all kinds of great outdoor activities. Horseshoes in the backyard if you are so inclined.
Easy access by car, train (metro north Beacon or Port Jervis line Salisbury Mills), bus (short line) or Plane (Stewart international Airport). Will sleep 11 or 12 easily, 8 are included in the price. We'll help with pick and drop off when available or a cab from any of these is $5-10. Friendly, well-behaved pets are welcome, $15/day. Rates +20% for graduation week at West Point.
Smokers are welcome but we don't smoke in the house. There is a screened porch outside that is comfortable, gets the wifi signal and doesn't make you feel like an outcast.
Guests will have access to the whole house and yard. there is a hot tub, bbq, horseshoes, and laundry on request. The basement and attic are off limits, we need a place to put our stuff.
I will greet you and show you around and answer any questions. You'll have my number if you need something and I ask you to just let me know once you are out.
We are real people who live here. We will be sure you have a place for your things and are well cared for but this is not an hotel and there will be things of ours around the house. Generally there are hooks on the doors and the closets contain our personal belongings.
Please smoke outside. Leave it as you found it and Have a good time.
A lifelong resident of the Hudson Valley I became an independent real estate investor after a successful 20+ yr career in Brokerage. This gives me wonderful flexibility and travel, gardening, and great books are some of my hobbies. I also love to cook. I am a guest as well as a host. I have always preferred to stay like a local rather than in hotels where you meet mostly other tourists. I love the operas in Prague, the market in the Blessed Valley, the french quarter in the early morning and the hot sweet cacophany India. I want to get the feel of an area I am visiting, Airbnb is great for that. My hosts help me discover the treasures of an area I would probably have missed in a short stay and give me a home base to relax after a days exploring. I have a great husband, Richy, and 3 wonderful kids, who usually don't live at home (the kids that is) but visit often. We have 2 cats and some chickens and are open to well behaved friendly pet visitors. We love having guests and have always hosted. Family from out of town, exchange students that still come and bring their families , friends from other parts all have a home here. Richy is retired now and an avid hiker, writing a book on the Hudson Highlands, so if you like the natural beauty of the Hudson Highlands he is a wealth of information. We enjoy the opportunity of introducing to our area to others. Dia and Storm King Art Center are both nearby as well as West Point Military Academy and Woodbury Commons. The majestic Hudson is about 2 blocks away and there is a public park to launch boats there (Plum Point Park). We have kyacks and they can launch for free. It is about 1 hour to NYC. We are flexible and happy. Life is good!! We welcome your visit.
