A charming twin-bedded studio in a fabulous location near the centre of Kalkan and all amenities. Part of the popular Nur Apartments site with a fabulous shared pool, great service and friendly hosts.
A superb base for a low-cost Kalkan holiday.
Moonlight Studio is, in effect, a charming little one-bedroom shack set in its own grounds adjacent to our main apartment block. It has twin beds, a bathroom and a tiny kitchenette. You can't really cook full meals there but it's ideal for snacks, breakfast etc - but who wants to cook in Kalkan anyway? ;)
Moonlight guests are welcome to use the apartment block's magnificent pool with sunbeds, parasols, etc, but also have their own private terrace area in front of the shack, with a nice sea view.
Small kitchen area
Access to main apartment pool and communal facilities with sunbeds, parasols etc
We try to meet and greet all guests (depending upon their arrival time). Otherwise, full joining instructions are provided by email. We also provide a comprehensive information pack with details of the area. Guests cater for themselves, but we are on hand in case of emergencies and we are always happy to provide advice, guidance and information about the area.
Moonlight Studio is a part of the Nur Apartment complex, managed by Kalkan Secrets.
Guests should always behave with respect for their surroundings, local customs and other people.
No pets. No smoking inside the building.
Fiona and I came to Kalkan on honeymoon in 2004; we loved the place so much we came back the next year and bought an apartment!
We now own five of the six apartments in the block and have been renting them out to holidaymakers very successfully under the business name Kalkan Secrets; we use our own website and various other proprietary sites that promote self-catering holidays. You know - the usual suspects!
I thought we should give AirBnB a try as well, in order to fill some of the gaps that occur between larger bookings. We initially listed our "Moonlight" studio and our "Dusk" ground floor apartment and are now adding the others.
Fiona and I now live in Kalkan part of the year - but we don't actually live on-site at the apartments. In 2013, we were living in what is now "Dusk" apartment, but we moved off-site in 2014, and our view is that guests should be left to cater for themselves. We (or our manager Howard) generally visit the apartments briefly each day and we are more than happy to help guests with recommendations for restaurants, excursions, beach clubs, boat trips etc.
We supply an information pack by email and there's a hard copy in the accommodation too.
I am a musician (guitarist) and play regularly in one of the bars in the town with a Turkish singer. I also travel back to the UK on a regular basis to do my "day job" of financial adviser. Fiona tends to run the apartment business... attending to housekeeping , organising cleaners, liaising with guests etc. We are also extending the rental management service to other owners who don't have the time or inclination to manage it for themselves
With all that going on we don't have much spare time but when we do, we like simple things... a boat trip around the bay; maybe a barbeque; reading, relaxing by the pool at our villa or catching up on some old TV series that we never had time to watch first time around...like Dexter, Breaking Bad... and most of all just listening to music - the universal language!
