Jean-François greeted me as I came to he front door of the building. He was very timely and clear in his instructions both before I reached the property (entry codes, location and such) and as he showed me through the apartment (washing machine, blinds and drapes, stove, etc.)
The apartment is a spacious and beautiful place located in an elegant and quiet neighborhood. Large windows give the apartment warmth and light. It is an utter pleasure to have your coffee and croissant in the morning bathed in Parisian sunshine (or watching the drumming rain depending on the weather.) The apartment has a large shower/bath and large, well equipped kitchen, both of which can be a rarity in Paris.
The charming Arsenal marina is directly across the street and the right bank of the Seine is merely steps away. For those of you traveling in 2016 and beyond Mme. Hidalgo (the mayor of Paris) will be shutting down traffic on right embankment of the Seine. This will make for an excellent location to stroll, exercise and people watch all days of the week. There is an good bakery down the block along the Arsenal, toward the Seine and around the corner, very close. There is a Franxprix supermarche over on Blvd Henri IV (a block away), and larger MonoPrix nearby on Rue St. Antoine in the 4th. On Thursdays and Sundays there is the huge Marché Bastille at Place Bastille along Blvd. Richard Lenoir. Even if you're not shopping for food, this should not be missed.
Jean-François' apartment is the perfect base of operation for many attractions not only in the 4th arrondissement (the Marais, Place de Voges, Centre Pompidou), but also the 5th (Jardin de Plantes, Blvd St. Germain, Ile de St. Louis and Cité), 12th (Coulée Verte, Gare de Lyon), and 11th (Place Bastille, Blvd. de la Roquette). I never lacked for anything to do, all that was necessary was to walk out the front door.
I loved this place and hope to return in the future.
Thank you Jean-François.
