Le Cerisier - Lanouialle farmhouse bed and breakfast, with 6 good restaurants only 5 mins away, medieval towns with lively markets to explore, seasonal festivities happening all year in the area, beach 5 mins away with water sports facilities.
Our Bed and Breakfast is set amongst the quiet countryside of the Dordogne, yet only 10 mins from a busy medieval market town so you have the option of relaxing in our garden, or checking out the local bars and cafes in the area. If you are attending a wedding or special function at the Chateaux La Duranti then we are only 10 minutes away. For those who like walking/cycling there are many specifically marked hiking paths all around us for those quiet strolls in the countryside (don't forget to take your camera as there is an abundance of wildlife in the area).
There is secure gated parking on the premises and as the room is located in a 50sq metre annexe to our main house, you have your own front door leading out onto your own private patio so are free to come and go as you please.
Breakfast is a continental one, with freshly baked croissants, home made bread, fruit, preserves and unlimited tea or coffee.
You have full access to our garden, sun loungers are also provided. You also have your own private patio where you can take your breakfast in the morning in the warm sunshine, overlooking our mini orchard of cherry, apple, plum & walnut trees. There is satellite TV and a DVD player in the room and complimentary tea & coffee making facilities are provided in your room as well as a fridge in case you want to keep something cool such as wine, beer or fruit juices whilst you are relaxing in the garden! Free wi-fi internet access is also available.
Having previously owned 2 restaurants and with one of us being a chef, we can also provide "table d'hote" if you wish @ 22 euros per person, giving you a 3 course meal using local produce and a taste of what the region has to offer.
If you fancy a day on the beach we have Rouffiac only 5 mins away where you can indulge yourself in some watersports or just relax on the beach. For those interested in the culture & history of the Dordogne there is the medieval city of Perigueux with it's chateaux, museums, weekly markets and famous restaurants. Our nearest main town is St Yrieix la Perche, this has a medieval quarter and has lots of quaint shops, bars, cafes and restaurants. For days out you are never too far from a beautiful chateaux in the area with their immaculately kept gardens as well as the odd medieval town to stroll around.
As we are in the heart of the countryside there is no public transport so your own car is essential, we do have secure off road parking.
If you are attending a wedding or special function at the local Chateaux La Duranti then we are conveniently situated being only 10 minutes away.
You have access to the Chambre d'hote annexe with your own private access and key, and our gardens
We are Steve & Sue Lawn, and have lived in france now since 2006. This is our second property in France, the first one being a converted Watermill in Brittany which we let out as a gite. Having previously owned two restaurants in the UK (one with a Bed and breakfast attached in Devon) we are well used to the hospitality trade and will give you a warm welcome here at Le Cerisier.
