Charming little private casita with its own fenced yard on a dead end road for your romantic escape! Our views are incredible out every window, and the stars from the hot tub at night are spectacular. We also welcome pets with a one time $50 pet fee. We have a 2 person maximum.
Please be aware that the loft bedroom has a steep stairway and only 5'10" of clearance on the stairs for tall people. The room opens up into over 7' as it has a slanted roof, and a big window for mountain views!
The Casita is only 800 square feet with an open sleeping loft so we have a maximum of 2 people. The Casita is a private little home on a half acre fenced property, with beautiful gardens and deck and hot tub, so there are a few rules to help maintain the property. We love dogs and have our own very sweet labrador with his private yard (separate from yours) so there are a few dog rules. You are responsible for any damage to the gardens by digging dogs, as well as inside if the dogs scratch the furniture or windows and doors if left alone.... so please feel free to bring your kennel with you in case you want to leave them indoors. If your dog sheds a lot, please cover the furniture to help with the cleaning for the next guests who don't have pets!
At over 7500 feet in altitude, we have lovely sleeping weather as it cools down every night (often a difference of nearly 50 degrees!) so we don't need air conditioning- just open the windows for cross ventilation of cool night air and close all windows and curtains for the heat of the day. We experience frequent sudden mountain storms so please don't leave the windows open more than a few inches when you leave.
The loft bedroom has a steep stairway, but there is a leather sofa sleeper in the living area if you are uncomfortable with negotiating the stairs.
Additionally there is no smoking, no cats, no more than 2persons per night (unless pre-approved)
We also appreciate light help upon your departure if you want to stay later than the 11:00 normal check out time:
strip beds, start laundry, recycle on the back porch of the big house in appropriate bins for glass, plastic and aluminum/ tin, and deposit trash in dumpster by the top of the driveway.
Please note there are no refunds for cancellations made less than 30 days in advance. We will apply your payment to your next booking.
Joe and I have been in Taos since 1974, so we surely love the place!!! Known as the Land of
Enchantment, New Mexico and especially the Taos area has so much to offer it is almost overwhelming.
We have world class skiing at Taos Ski Valley and now snow boarding there as well as Angel Fire resort, Red River ski area and even little Sipapu ski area. The hiking and chair lift rides in the summer are equally beautiful, and there is a new mountain bike trail system in Angel Fire that is becoming known for its challenging terrain nationwide.
Taos Pueblo is a world heritage site that is over 1000 years old and features their feast day dances that are unbelievable. Go to to read about their attractions and customs. It is something that you just can't miss in Taos.
The Rio Grande river with its natural beauty not to mention rafting, swimming, and fly fishing. We have Wheeler Peak, the largest mountain in New Mexico, and the Enchanted Circle drive
that skirts its flanks goes from Taos to Red River to Angel Fire and back for one of the prettiest 100 mile drives you will remember.
We love to meet people from all over the world, and have hosted guests from the Netherlands, Italy, Mexico and the UK! We even have traded for homes in Mexico and Italy. We love to travel and stay in comfortable places, so we have designed our homes to be very complete. We love to cook, so our kitchens are well stocked with all the basics like sugar, flour, condiments, blenders, coffee makers, serving dishes and utensils. Our furniture is very comfy, leather couches and lots of pillows! We have
made our bedrooms with the best of linens, down comforters and pillows and good mattresses.
So let us know where you live and what you like when you visit other places.... and if you have a
listing on Airbnb, we'd love to hear about it.
