Is Oakland is the Brooklyn of San Francisco? Come check it out for yourself! Explore the Bay Area from my comfortable, sunny modern Victorian home, perfectly situated between hip Uptown Oakland, Emeryville, and just one BART stop or quick trip over the new Bay Bridge into San Francisco.
The house is a 1894 lavender Victorian. I gutted it when I bought it a few years ago, revealed the original wood floors, tore down walls, put in more big windows, and updated the kitchen and bath. There are still a few details left to do (when are there not?) but now it's an open, spacious updated space. There are 2 queen bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms (tub + shower) and a big open kitchen/dining room with everything you need to cook and serve a meal, and a big living room with cable TV and a classic Victorian bay window.
The whole place is yours! Full kitchen, farm table that seats 10, 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
I can't take reservations more than 6-8 weeks in advance - I'm not as good a planner as some of you are!
I won't be here but I'll make sure you're well taken care of.
Artistic peeps will be glad to know that this is the hotbed for metal arts studios (The Crucible, American Steel,) visual arts studios, and dance/circus arts spaces (Bandaloop, Bruce Beasley Studio.) Legendary brunch spot Brown Sugar Kitchen and new hidden foodie favorite Fuse Box are both within walking distance. And you'll never miss First Fridays and the Oakland Art Murmur again - just hop on your bike and you're there!
No smoking, no craziness - otherwise please make yourselves at home.
