An affordable, cozy place to stay and avoid the sultry August heat in New York City. Window AC units in both the living and bedroom. Close to the 2/3/4/5 lines, the Brooklyn Museum, and all of the great bars and restaurants of Prospect & Crown Heights—with the added bonus of two friendly felines.
The cats should be once in the morning and once in the evening -- 1 can of wet food split between them for each meal. Timing of meals is flexible!
Comfortable, clean, and quiet 1-bedroom apartment with full bathroom, kitchen, and separate living room...and cats! We have two cats, Ronnie and Mickey, who will be there while you are. We are renting the space out for a lower-than-usual rate in exchange for guests who are willing to take care of our cats during their stay. If you like cats and don't mind feeding them and doing a little light litter duty, you have found the right airbnb!
The queen bed in the bedroom can sleep 2, and the fold-down futon in the living room can sleep 1 or 2 in a pinch. We're listing this as a 2 person rental because the cats are used to being closed into the living room at night to sleep, but they're good cuddlers and if you don't mind the company, would be happy to sleep with you. :) The living room has a door that can be closed, while the bedroom can be closed off with a heavy curtain (we use the spaces for the reverse of what was intended because one is shaded in the summer and makes a better/cooler bedroom).
The kitchen includes a gas stove, microwave, toaster oven, drip-coffee, slow cooker, and typical cooking and dining utensils. We live here when we're not renting, so there's everything you'd expect to find in a kitchen—you won't find yourself searching through mostly empty drawers, cursing your host for not thinking to provide a can opener!
The living area has a large work table, the previously mentioned futon, a computer, a record player, and lots of books, if you're in need of reading material.
The bathroom has the usual sink, toilet, and full-sized tub with shower.
Also, there is a small, mostly-soundproof practice room in the bedroom. It measures 5'x6'x7', so only for non-claustrophobic musicians! Sometimes I lock it up before visitors arrive, but if you'd like to use it, let me know and I'll leave it open.
The whole apartment—and oh-so-swanky fire escape—is yours to use as you wish.
We're available by text or email anytime to help sort out any issues or answer any questions.
Clean sheets and towels provided.
A set of keys is provided. Guests may come and go as they please.
Must like cats! We'll need you to feed our cats twice a day, and if the situation warrants it, do a little light litter scooping.
Other than that, just try to be courteous of the neighbors. We like them and don't want to subject them to any loud late-night parties.
I am a cellist currently playing with the Charlotte Symphony. I'm low key, prefer to read the newspaper than watch TV; prefer one-on-one conversations to group ones. I don't smoke, am generally quiet, unless I'm practicing cello. That can be cleared beforehand, though!
