The Blue House is nestled in a lush, spring filled holler, on the shortest street in Fayetteville's historic district. Enjoy coffee on the porch swing. The Blue House is a 3 block walk to the Downtown Square, Dickson Street (nightlife and dining), and Block St. (boutique shopping). Hop on your bike and ride the half mile to the Razorback Greenway, or up to the mountain biking trails on Mt. Sequoyah. Wander through the oldest settled neighborhood in Fayetteville and then come home for a cozy evening. Split floor plan offers privacy for couples and families.
We've tried to pack as much as possible into this 1000 sq. ft. cottage!
There are two bedrooms, each has a queen size bed. (An air mattress is available upon request. )
The upper bedroom is up a few stairs from the kitchen and it's on the opposite end of the house from the other bedroom.
There is a full washer/ dryer. The laundry is located in the upper bedroom closet.
Enjoy premium cable - HBO, Showtime, ESPN, local, etc. from the television in the living room. We have added a television with basic cable in the upper bedroom. There are three bands for wireless internet and the cable company has assured me that if you are working or streaming videos that the bandwidth is the best available.
The kitchen is galley style with stainless appliances - fridge, stove, and dishwasher. Also included are toaster, microwave and coffee maker (takes k-cups or grounds). We provide coffee, tea, olive oil and basic spices. The kitchen is stocked with caphalon pots and pans, cookie sheets, mixing bowls and Pyrex. There are wine glasses and lots of glassware.
There is a small dining table, with seating for four, in the upper bedroom, and a small bistro table in the living room. The porch is covered and has a bistro table, chairs and a porch swing.
The porch is amazing! Watch hawks, bard owls, song birds, deer, and fox in this urban oasis. Wet weather springs flow into Spout Spring Branch, which eventually leads to the west fork of the White River.
Please let us know if you are traveling with bicycles or motorcycles and we will provide access to the garage.
Fayetteville recycles - there is a recycling can in the kitchen and recycle bins just outside the back door.
The entire house and garage upon request. The garage is small and will only store bikes and motorcycles. We live nearby and provide off street motorcycle and trailer parking. My husband rides motorcycles - if you need tools or advice we will be in town BBBQ weekend.
We are happy to stop by and say hello, but we respect your privacy. Enjoy your vacation!
We live nearby and we are here to answer questions or to provide assistance.
We are happy to have you as our guest and neighbor. You have the house to yourself, but please be respectful of the neighbors.
If something isn't working properly, please call. We live nearby.
Please no smoking inside.
Please no pets.
Just ask and we are happy to provide the garage code to you to store your bikes or motorcycles.
Please park on the sidewalk in front of the house (I know it sounds crazy, but it's a tiny street). If you have a trailer, please let us know and we will help to accommodate.
It's a small house, please mind dirty shoes (since you will having such fun outside while you are here!) and large luggage.
Chris and I have lived in Fayetteville since the mid-1990s. We came for college and never left. We love our little town and love hosting our friends and family. There is so much to see and do in Northwest Arkansas - it's a gateway to adventure and fun!
We have two sons and a boxer, and embrace little-town, downtown living.
