Colle dell'ara is not a hotel. Staying with us, in our home, means treating yourself to a rare experience.
We are in Positano, in the small village of Montepertuso, located just above this corner of paradise on the Amalfi Coast.
The building is situated on top of the hill and can be reached on foot in 5-6 minutes through an ancient path, fully illuminated at night.

We are Pasquale and Giacomo, who with the help of our father Michele, a few years ago we decided to undertake this activity which constantly
is giving us the opportunity to convey to our guests our main passions for hospitality and good food. These passions, well-established in our
coastal land and agriculture, allowing us to constantly reinvent the offer to our guests dedicated, basing it on availability and seasonality values.

We host you in rooms equipped with private bathroom and balcony overlooking the sea of Positano between the islands of Capri and Li Galli. Each room has a large double bed (with the possibility of adding a single bed), and are equipped with linens, towels and toiletries. Free wi-fi connection is working in all our spaces. We provide you with keys for your independent access at every time.

Upon your arrival you will find free parking slots along the road and we'll help you carry your luggage with a special pulling system.
We will assist you from beginning, accompanying you throughout whole of your stay suggesting you the best local amenities including activities from ourselves offered.
You will have here the opportunity to experience our land through different activities such us farming excursions and local cooking classes (events organized on reservation). We always include breakfast, different every day and based on availability of our gardens, or made by the breads and cakes that we daily prepare.

Gorgeous, remote, location overlooking Positano! A one of a kind experience!

This place is beyond stunning, the views from the rooms are unmatched anywhere. Yes you have to walk to get to the house, but that adds to the charm. Breakfast was amazing, fresh fruits and vegetables from the garden harvested every morning. The rooms themselves where comfortable and well equipped. The hosts where very welcoming and made you feel right at home.

Pasquale and his family are kind hosts! The breakfast spread each morning was our highlight, after the view of course. Having a cappuccino and breakfast fresh from their own gardens each morning was such a treat. Be aware that Colle dell'Arra is at the very top of Positano. There are stairs...many many stairs to take you down to the city center and beach if you would like. There is also a bus system that winds down the mountain at certain times throughout the day. Knowing this schedule is a must. Personally, we would pack our beach bag with a change of clothes and spend the entire day in town and come back at night.

Beautiful views overlooking Positano, Capri and beyond. Delicious breakfast every morning including fresh figs, tomatoes, grapes from garden. Marco and father were very nice to us throughout our stay. There are restaurants nearby (about 15/20 min walk). I told the host in advance that we wanted to do the cooking class that they run. When we checked in around 1 PM, there was a class going on. We wish they told us about that because we would have tried to get there earlier to join. They did not hold it again for the 3 nights we were there. No working wifi in rooms while we were there. Please note it is a hike to get to/from the property with lots of rocky steps. One night it was raining heavily and we couldn't leave to get dinner because it would be too dangerous to walk down in rain. Positano center is about 25 minutes by bus, and 1 hour by walking. Very unique property with kind hosts, great views, and delicious breakfast. Would stay again.

We stayed in Pasquale's place for three nights. We arrived very late but the brothers who run the b&b were very accommodating to our arrival, even helping us to hire a taxi from Naples to Positano and met us on the street to help with luggage and show us exactly where to go. Upon arrival we were STUNNED by the breathtaking view. We felt very welcomed and this hospitality did not falter throughout our stay. They offered great recommendations, even arranging a dinner reservation on our behalf. The b&b in itself is comfortable, quiet and clean. It has a farm-like feel and proved to be relaxing. Breakfast each morning was fresh and overall the description and reviews prove to be true. Our only issue with the place- and quite a big issue- was the location. Secluded and isolated, it's a solid hour walk to the town and beach. This walk is almost exclusively staircases and even as 23-year-old, active individuals, we struggled to enjoy it. The bus schedule is hourly but the buses are hard to catch in town (we stayed during high season) and incredibly packed. Taxis are available but extremely expensive. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this place for those looking for more solitude and quiet.

Even though the house is a bit out of center city, it is situated in a great location with killer views. The rooms are in excellent conditions and Pasquale and his brothers are very attentive and friendly. They can help you with any questions you have. The only downside is that getting to the house requires a bit of climb through a narrow path which is worth it at the end, especially for young travelers like myself.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Colle Dell’ara. Our highlights of the stay were the amazing views, no matter where you were situated on the property, breakfast each morning with peaches, plums, pears and other seasonal items from the garden, homemade pies, tarts and a cappuccino. There are also about nine cats on the property which was a plus for us cat lovers! The B&B has 9 rooms and we were lucky to meet many friends that were staying on property. We took the foraging class with the oldest brother, Giacomo, where you take a hike around the gardens of Montepurtuso and eventually make a four course meal with fresh ingredients. The Airbnb is located in Montepurtuso, which is about a 45 minute, 2 euro bus ride from downtown Positano. The bus runs every hour. If there was anything we could change, it would be more frequent buses, but if you learn the system, it’s easy to organize your trip. We were also pleased that some of the top-rated restaurants in Positano were near the B&B – we enjoyed Il Rutrovo, La Tagliata and La Terra (in that order).
