Cozy. Colorful. Clean. Room in this walkup apartment in a vibrant part of the UES. Short walk to Rockefeller University, Marymount and Hunter Colleges, John Jay and Carl Schurz Parks. A longer walk gets you to Central Park, the Met, Guggenheim.Right in the hospital/medical epicenter of New York.
The apartment itself is a very modest 2 bedroom, but a perfect repose after being out in the energetic stir of the city. Your bedroom is in the back part of the building away from the street, so there is no din of streets sounds. The occasional siren is not uncommon, but that is part of New York's charm. :-)
We essentially share the whole apartment -- the kitchen implements, the living area, television, bath. Your bedroom is your sovereign space, but there is no smoking in the apartment whatsoever.
I am a writer, performer and freelancer so I spend a lot of time at the apartment, and work from here.
I'll of course have linens and towels for you.

My first aim is to be able to share my comfortable apartment in the traditional New York roommate way, but simply on a rotating basis. Think about it. Ever have a roommate who was so moody, you never knew who you'd come home to find? Well, instead, now every "mood" change becomes pretty much an actual, new and interesting person, agreed upon completely by design. Brilliant.
Also, I hope I can offer an affordable option to accompanying family members of individuals who have come from distant places to New York to receive medical treatment nearby. This lodging situation could not be more ideal for this purpose.
As your host, you will always find me to be the same dependable, middle-aged, mature, helpful Upper East Side flatmate.
Simply clean up after yourself in the kitchen and living area, and always lock the door.
