Our new guest rooms at Hotwell House open directly onto the courtyard, renovated in 2017 to boutique standards with superking size beds, rain showers, handmade bath products and crisp white linen.
Guests are welcome to chill out in the gardens, ramble through the fields and woods, play tennis and croquet, or replenish the mind and body in the yoga studio open from October. Becky offers Reiki sessions, and dinner can be arranged. Hotwell House is also home to one of Ireland's only warm springs.
All rooms can be rented individually as each is ensuite and has its own private entrance onto the sunny courtyard.
Hotwell House is a Georgian farmhouse set in 20 acres of gardens, woodland and pasture in the historic Boyne Valley in Ireland's Ancient East.
The house has a unique history, earning its unusual name from a warm spring on the property known as St. Gorman's Well. Between November and May every year, the well fills with warm water and has been a place of pilgrimage and worship since pre-Christian times. It's also a fine spot for guests to have a winter swim!
The coach house was renovated in 2017 and divided into four large ensuite studios to allow up to 8 guests to enjoy the peaceful surroundings in total comfort.
They can be rented individually or larger groups can take the whole building. Guests can hang out and eat in the bright, sunny coachhouse breakfast room.
Each room has it's own private stable door onto the courtyard. Across the yard is yoga studio. The gardens feature a tennis court, croquet lawn and plenty of room to roam around the fields and woods.
We provide a continental breakfast every day. There are no cooking facilities in The Coachhouse. In terms of meals, we operate more like a traditional B&B, so you may need to make appropriate arrangements for eating out. You’re also welcome to order in meals that may be eaten in the breakfast room. Ask us for local takeaway options. There is a Nespresso coffee machine, kettle, plus a toaster, fridge and plenty of our own homemade elderflower cordial. There is a bottle of this delicious cordial in your room, with our own still and sparkling water. If you want to bring some elderflower cordial home with you, it’s available to buy in 500ml bottles.
Becky worked for years as a private chef and provides a self-catered continental breakfast of fresh orange juice, homemade muesli and breads in the sunny coachhouse breakfast room. She's happy to provide a gourmet cooked breakfast of local seasonal produce if you let her know well in advance.
Nick and Becky try to greet everyone on arrival and are around to help guests with any local queries they might have. We are both passionate foodies, very happy to advise guests on the best places to eat and drink locally. We can also provide gourmet evening meals for parties of six of more.
There are friendly dogs on the property. We also have horses, ponies and other livestock. Pets are welcome by prior arrangement provided they are kept under control.
