Guests have their own private access to the unit. A balcony adjoining the main part of the house is for guests private use. There is a clothesline and table/chairs on it. The ranch slider in the bedroom also opens up onto the deck and allows for some privacy - enjoy lying in bed looking up into the hills of Thames with birds playing in the large tree right next to the balcony.

Our home was a built in 1908 as one of the original homesteads for the area and is featured substantially in a book written about the area titles "No bed of roses". Originally called "Riverview" because of its then expansive views of the Kauaeranga River, the views have since been blocked out with flood banks. The apartment is named after the houses original name "Wai" being Maori for water and "kite" meaning view.
No strong smelling food to be cooked in the kitchen please.
