Looking to retreat from the world? Then this is your space - a beautiful Shepherd hut in a tranquil haven, set a mile down a private drive; offering stunning views across the Peak District. Crafted by an artisan, this individually designed shepherd hut offers a truly relaxing and luxurious space with full modern amenity. An ensuite shower room, fully equipped kitchen, log burner and food parcels if required means everything is on hand leaving you to do as little or as much as your heart desires.
The shepherd hut is accessed via 3 oak steps to the raised platform and the outdoor dining area, you enter the hut via fully glazed double French doors. Inside, to the left of the doors is the dining and seating area which can comfortably seat up to 4. Collapse the table at night and pull down the king size wall bed to discover your sleeping area and another window to your new world.
The fully equipped kitchen with gas oven, hob and small fridge enables you to do as much or as little cooking as you please; whilst the log burner with its plentiful supply of logs for your stay, ensures that you remain snug and toasty all year round. Of great importance is the charming ensuite. With full size power shower, heated towel rail and of course a toilet it is difficult to believe that this level of amenity is also contained inside the Shepherd hut.
The hut is entirely yours, set in its own space within pastureland, set in over 350 acres of glorious Cheshire Peak farmland. A diverse landscape, the farm borders the River Dane, one of the fastest rising and falling rivers in the U.K, with open pastureland grazed by cattle and sheep. There is also a significant area of protected ancient woodland; and we are very proud to have been one of the farms involved in the Dane Valley woodlands project which has involved a management plan for existing trees and the plantation of circa 3,500 indigenous species trees.
Adjacent to the Shepherd huts (in the next field) is one of the many footpaths that criss cross the farm, giving immediate access to the Peak Distict and the 3 counties of Derbyshire, Staffordshire and Cheshire. The farm also sits on the boundary of the newly established Peak District Boundary Walk which covers 190 miles of this diverse and beautiful countryside. Cut into 20 walks, each walk covers around 10 miles; we are on route 17 which can be picked up by the river.
We have another Shepherd hut which also sleeps 2 - Hen Cloud Shepherd Hut at Whitelee Farm, Wincle; as such we can accommodate groups of 4 adults if required.
We will always greet you upon arrival and ensure that any questions relating to your stay are answered. We can be available as needed - whilst we don't live on site we do live close by and are always around the farm buildings in the mornings and early evenings; or by arrangement.
Please note that due to its rural location phone signal is extremely limited and non existent for some providers. There is no wifi in the huts. This is off grid living from mobile technology.
There is another Shepherd hut situated in the same field that can be jointly booked if you are looking for accommodation for 4 adults. Please see the listing 'Hen Cloud Shepherd Hut at Whitelee Farm, Wincle'
- Please leave muddy footwear in the box provided outside the hut
