Glamping in the "Escort Deluxe" caravan by the beautiful Merri Creek in Northcote - a hip inner suburb of Melbourne.
The large caravan is fully kitted out with kitchen and comforts of home - a cosy homely nest away from home.
With a view and surroundings that will make you question whether you're actually just 6kms from the CBD or in the middle of the bush - there is no place like it!
You can even toast marshmallows over the fire outside.
The 17ft caravan is a nice size for your cosy home away from home.
You enter into the living space which is currently set up with 2 long seats which are made of recycled crates so can be configured to any shape or moved away to put down the spare queen mattress or cot or single mattress if there's more than 2 of you staying in the main bed.
Then there's the kitchen with all you need for basic meal cooking - a small fridge, oven, stove and a sink (water is supplied via 10lt tank that is easily refilled).
Off to the side of this is a storage area to store luggage etc and next to kitchen is a wardrobe to hang your clothes.
Then up the end is a bedroom with queen size bed and huge TV (65") that sits at the end of the bed.
An electric heater keeps the caravan very warm on cold Melbourne winter nights.
The caravan is connected to power from the main house so all appliances can be easily used)
The caravan sits next to my house overlooking the beautiful Merri Creek and all it's wildlife and bushland.
You have exclusive use of the outside toilet which is accessed via the nearby verandah (under cover) and you can access the main house any time for showers/bath or other toilet.
The main house is full of character - it's shabby chic rustic farmhouse with a bit of hippy boho thrown in for good measure.
The occupants of the main house are :-
Myself - Tarley - single mum and airbnb'er (I also Airbnb an apartment in Fitzroy), and every now and then a goth/alt DJ. I'm very easy going and open-minded.
My little boy Atlas - an active but pretty chilled out 18 month old who is quite social who loves dogoos and dancing.
Savi the dog - a very sooky, neurotic but lovable bull arab-cross.
Mia Cat - my white princess
And Chiara ...the fluffy 3 legged cat.
You have the caravan all to yourself. It is accessed via the street and it has its own key. No curfews - you can come and go as you please. You can also access the main house behind the caravan to use outside toilet via verandah and shower/bath & toilet inside. My brother also Airbnb's rooms in the house next door so if you want to accommodate more people that may be arranged.
I prefer to keep all communication on Airbnb's messenger. But once you are staying you can ring, text or come speak to me directly. I am always around for a chat if you want info on the area and things to do. I'm a fairly social person so often have friends over for drinks, dinners etc but you don't have to be social if you don't wish to.
The house and caravan are kooky and quirky - a bit like me! If you like old things with character then this place is for you - it is not the Hilton on wheels but it will be a fabulous experience!
I've had people staying in it for 6 months and the last guy (a German chap) loves it so much he's coming back to stay indefinitely! so the caravan is only available for the next 3 months while he's away. Ultimately I'd prefer 1or 2 people stay for the whole 3 months so if you're looking for something for more than 2 months we can come up with a better price :)
