We stayed with Stephanie for a night while in Newport for a wedding.
The communication before, during and after the stay was impeccable. We arrived just before 10am, a very early and convenient check-in time, which allowed us to see some local sights and take a nap before the wedding.
The bed is plush and comfortable. My girlfriend loved it while I prefer a firmer mattress for my back. The room was very clean and fresh. Plenty of electric outlets, cable TV, and central air that kept us cool on the humid August day.
There were a few minor items that are not as desirable. For one, it's a shared shower - so don't expect a spotless bathroom as if you're at the Marriott. The house is also older, and therefore a bit creaky. If someone moves you will hear them. I'm a light sleeper. I also tried to be quiet for the host when I got up to use the restroom in the middle of the night - which proved impossible. I found it odd and slightly unsettling that there was no lock on our bedroom door.
Lastly, beware of the cat. Salem. Approach with caution!
All in all, a great stay and we'd do it again. The price is a bit high for a private room and shared bathroom but Newport is beautiful, and it was still cheaper than staying at a nice hotel!
