This lovely space is located in the lower level of a home with its own walk-out entrance from the rear of the house. While no breakfast is provided, coffee and tea is available. The kitchenette has a microwave, a small fridge/freezer, a toaster, a coffee maker and kettle. A barbecue is also available outside.
The suite is private with its own entrance with chairs outside facing the forest. Guests can soak up the sun on the grounds, and walk through the woods and trails that surround Forest View Hideaway.
Although Forest View is Marg & Donna's place, Kevin lives in the house and will be the person interacting with you most of the time. Don't be surprised though if you hear from Marg or Donna in the event that Kevin is unavailable.
We are happy to recommend restaurants and activities in our area, and can text or email you this info ahead of time so you can book tickets or reservations if needed.
If you have questions during your stay, please don't hesitate to reach out.
We have installed sound insulation in the home as the upstairs is inhabited by a family. While it has greatly improved the transmission of sound between the 2 floors, it is not perfect. We ask that you not make excessive noise and in kind, Kevin's family who lives upstairs, will try to do the same.
Occasionally Kevin takes care of Marg and Donna's dog, a 4 year old husky who is very friendly and quiet. She is not allowed in the Forest View apartment but likes to spend a lot of time outside and usually introduces herself to our guests. If the possibility of having a dog on the property is a concern to you, please ask when you make your booking if she will will be around on the dates you are looking at.
Please keep the noise down after 10 pm.
I'm a single dad who works in I.T. I moved to the Haliburton Highlands almost 20 years ago, drawn by its natural beauty and rural lifestyle.
I've only lived at Forest View Hideaway a short while, but I've quickly fallen in love with the property. It offers wonderful privacy and an abundance of wildlife that I look forward to sharing with our guests.
