15 minutes to Manhattan, tucked away on a safe and tree-lined block in Brooklyn, this airy, sun-filled, brownstone shines with original details. Ideal for large groups, this duplex apartment sleeps 16+--with ample space for relaxing, cooking, watching movies, and easy access to local restaurants like Saraghina and coffee shops. With a view of the Empire State Building from the floor-to-ceiling windows, this is Brooklyn living at its best.
My mission is to combine the warmth and charm of a home with the amenities you'd find at a hotel. With two flexible living/bed rooms, a full kitchen, a kitchenette, and two bathrooms, this duplex is a rarity in NYC.
The 3rd floor features an oversized living room that can be a sitting room or a bedroom, with a large u-shaped sectional that converts to a king size bed. The 3rd floor living room has: 55" inch smart TV with Netflix, Amazon fire, etc., a DVD player and DVDs, video games, books, magazines, puzzles, and board games. You'll also find a record player with a curated selection of records.
The 3rd floor has 2 additional bedrooms:
Bedroom 2: queen bedroom that also includes a twin daybed.
Bedroom 3: bunk bedroom (twin over twin)
The 3rd floor also features a beautiful, spacious tile bathroom with a clawfoot tub, as well as a kitchenette outfitted with all of the essentials.
The 4th floor offers a large, bright room with a sofa bed and day bed that can be an additional living room or bedroom (Bedroom 4). Here you'll also find a second flat screen with Apple TV.
The 4th floor has three additional bedrooms:
Bedroom 5: queen bedroom
Bedroom 6: queen bedroom with a convertible full futon
Bedroom 7: bunk bedroom (twin over full)
The 4th floor also has a full bathroom and fully equipped kitchen to prepare meals.
I'm a former restaurant owner and good food ambassador, and you'll find the main kitchen meets every need you can imagine: sous vide machine, blender, and more.
How do you prefer your coffee? Pour over? Drip? Keurig? My kitchen has it all, including pods if you're in a hurry or beans and one of the best grinders money can buy if you're a purist. You'll also have your pick of teas if that's your thing.
In the bedrooms, you'll find 400 thread count sheets, down comforters and brand-new mattresses.
Each bathroom has all of the essentials and more: shampoo and conditioner, soap, first aid kit, and other toiletries. You'll also find plush towels and washcloths--plenty for everyone in your party.
You'll have sole access to the duplex apartment on the 3rd and 4th floors of the brownstone. I live on the garden level, and my home office is on the parlor level. You'll enter into the parlor hallway and head up the stairs to your unit. We use the seperate garden entrance, so the parlor entrance will be all yours.
This is a two-unit brownstone. My girlfriend and I live on the bottom two floors of the brownstone, I take my cues from you. I'm always reachable to answer questions and offer recommendations during your stay. I love meeting guests and value my privacy and understand you do, too. Unless you need me, I'll be sure to stay out of your way.
I value wellness and clean living, and the unit includes all of the amenities I have in my own: VOC-free water-based paint and I've also included low blue night lights so that you can find your way around at night.

Hey, I'm Jeff, and I was born in Ohio and and have lived in New York, Boston, Washington, DC, San Francisco and Maine. Extensive travel in India and SE Asia with several visits to Europe, Japan and South America.
In addition to travel, I love to cook and generally go out of my way to treat every meal as if it's my last on earth. I owned a top restaurant in Manhattan for years, then moved to DC to head up food and nutrition for the public school system. In Brooklyn, I founded Genuine Foods, a food service management company that serves high-quality, scratch-made meals in schools, business cafeterias, and universities. Last year, we served over 7,000 meals/day and sourced locally as much as possible. All just to say ... I've been fortunate to develop a deep understanding of and appreciation for New York's people, food, agriculture, and artisans. I'm happy to be welcoming guests to a city I know and love, and even happier to offer them a well-stocked kitchen.
To me, ideal accommodations combine the comfort and personality of a home with the luxury amenities you'd find in a hotel. I operated on that philosophy when designing my rental unit, and I look forward to offering guests a true haven in one of the most amazing cities in the world.
