Quiet area, bush walk to beach. A great set-up for family groups. House sleeps 6-7 people. Three bedrooms can be set up as 3 doubles or two doubles and one with 3 singles. Covered deck great for outdoor dining. Awesome Roadhouse cafe 200m walk away. Trampoline in yard. Two separate indoor living areas, both with TV.
Our place is a classic older style Byron home. The house is spacious and comfortable. It is bright and breezy with a huge covered deck and an enormous garden. The whole property is on 1200m sq.
The house is in the Lilli Pilli area of Byron which is on the southern side of town. There is a large shaded deck for relaxing on and a huge yard.
The kitchen is well-equipped with all the appliances you need. There is an electric oven and gas cooktop. Inside the dining table seats six but can extend to fit 8 or more. There is also a dining table on the deck that seats 6-8 and a table in the garden that can accommodate eight. There is a BBQ for outdoor dining.
It is a short 10-15 minute walk to Tallow Beach from the house. The walk takes you down a lovely bush track and there is a beautiful ti-tree lake just near the beach. Otherwise it is less than a 5 minute drive to the center of Byron town and to the other beaches of Byron.
We are on the outskirts of town. It is close enough to walk almost everywhere but far enough out of town to not be affected by the chaos that can make the centre of Byron a bit crazy and noisy in high season.
Lilli Pilli is a quiet area of Byron town fringed by a nature reserve with koala habitat. We have koalas, echidnas, possums and other wildlife popping in quite often.
There is a great little cafe on the corner just near our place -- The Roadhouse. The food is fabulous and there is always great music. NB they don't allow kids at dinner time.
Check out the Pighouse Flicks lounge and cushion cinema which has mostly recent release arthouse/independent films. They are in the Byron Bay Brewery/Buddha Bar complex which has a courtesy shuttle bus that goes from town out to the Brewery and back.
There is free WiFi. There are 2 lounge areas. Each has a DVD player and digital TV. We also have Apple TV on one TV with Netflix, Stan etc
Sheets and towels - bath and beach - are provided.
***NB: This is NOT a party house for non-stop noise. It is a quiet area of Byron and people choose it for that reason. Please don't book this house if you intend to have parties every night. Byron Council is very strict on noise in holiday season as the locals do call the police and any fines that arise or any complaints will result in you losing part or all of your bond.
We won't be there when you are as it is our home. Our daughter will be in the apartment over the back fence where she will be babysitting our dog Gilbert. She can help with pretty much any query. Gilbert is a very friendly Labradoodle. He will probably come and visit but it is your choice if you want him to come in or not. Let us know.
Parking in town and at the main beaches is $4 per hour. If you have a National Parks sticker you can park for free at The Pass, Captain Cooks (above Clarkes Beach), Broken Head and Cosy Corner.
Smoking allowed outside only. This is not a party house. It is up to you if you bring small children. The house is not designed to be kidsafe so it may be tricky to contain them and the drop from the deck is a bit high for toddlers.
