One of its kind, the room has been built out of the bedrock and the bedrock serves as the headboard of the room. The room is unique in its feature but comes with luxury amenities including a great ensuite bathroom and many open spaces.
Featured in Alistair Sawday's places to stay and The Telegraph, my place stands where a large rock used to and the room has been made to reflect that. Most of the building is clad in stone. But this is the only room at my place and probably the only room in Udaipur where the rock is essential to the room.
The place is located just 15-20min away from Udaipur city centre and an Uber or a taxi will bring you to my place. If you have trouble finding an Uber, we can arrange for a taxi for you. You will get a sense of natural living once you enter the driveway.
A series of steps will take you from the parking to the sitting lounge. Alternatively, a ramp will take you from the parking to the courtyard at the same level and just next to the swimming pool. We have lovingly designed this place and believe that this is where God resides.
A flight of stairs down will then take you to the "rock room". The room is spacious with a double bed and we can provide an extra bed as well for you. The room comes with a sitting area and a large ensuite bathroom.
You'll love the many terraces and sitting areas at my place and can spend many an evening sitting and gazing out at the sunset over the hills and the monsoon palace.
I love talking about the food at the place. It is all organic and the flavours are my own - having organised many a cooking lesson for guests of the City Palace where I work.
I could promise the world. But all I promise, for now, is a great stay.
We welcome you to be a part of our little nest. All guests can access the lobbies and verandas in the house. We have a large collection of coffee table books and magazines - all for the visitors (but they must be kept back in their places once you finish reading them). One can always have tea or coffee on our terrace which overlooks the city palace or the garden surrounded with plants.
The Indian culture states how guest are considered as Gods "Atithi Devo Bhava". My family has always abided to this saying and so shall I. My husband and I ensure that we have maximum interaction with our guests in order to them feel at home. I shall be very happy if I can be of any help. Looking forward to hosting you!
If you are arriving at our place in chauffeur driven vehicles, accommodation for your chauffeurs is easily available in guest houses within 1.5km from our place.
Udaipur is famous for its marble artefacts and miniature paintings which are available quite near my place. I personally suggest my guests shop from antique shops in the old city which are very close to the city palace. A large variety of clothes, miniature paintings, handicrafts and leather goods are available. One can easily bargain and get a good deal for a few items.
- - Smoking is allowed in the outdoor areas of the place.
- - If you're planing to arrive after 11pm, please let us know in advance.
I am an Event Manager and my life has revolved around the City Palace and the Events at the Palace. If you're an event manager, you would know about the work and the hours.
From the hectic schedule I find peace in cooking and teaching others to cook. Teaching always lead to conversations and conversations became something that I started enjoying very much. All this, led me to host on Airbnb.
