Well-appointed and clean, real 2 bedroom with additional home office in West Harlem. Beautifully and comfortably decorated by a feature film production designer, this pre-war apartment is on the 3rd floor of a walk-up building. Both bedrooms have queen beds, closets, radiators and window air-conditioners. The apartment has a large living room with marble coffee table and television that connects wirelessly to the internet. The generously sized kitchen has full-size stove, microwave, full-size refrigerator and complete sets of cookware, dishes and flatware. No coffee machine, but an electric kettle and French press do the trick. The kitchen dining table seats four comfortably. High-speed wireless internet throughout the apartment. Fresh linens and bath towels will be provided for both bedrooms and all guests.
ABCD express trains at 125th street are literally 1/2 block from the building; 15 minute train ride to Times Square, 25 minutes to the West Village. Columbia University is a 10-15 minute walk. Historic 125th Street and the Apollo Theater are just steps away, as are Morningside, Saint Nicholas and Riverside Park. There's a delicious French bistro on the corner, a Soul Food buffet two blocks away and Red Rooster is a five minute walk. Building is quiet and neighborhood is friendly.
If you need to do laundry, there are card-operated washer and dryers at a laundromat three blocks away. I'll leave you with a list of my favorite places to eat, visit, and shop.
I am very neat and clean and do everything I can to avoid the grime of NYC infiltrating my house. I love my apartment and hope you do too. Please treat my home as a close acquaintance's place and leave it as you found it.
I'm an NYC-based production designer and writer for film and commercials. I have lived in West Harlem for 10 years and went to Columbia for graduate school. I know NYC well. I love watching films, reading, running in Central Park and cooking. Other favorite cities are Berlin and Los Angeles; I was born and raised in Chicago.
