Welcome to Foxtail Community Farm! A working family farm, we raise vegetables, fruit, flowers, herbs, chickens, & turkeys using sustainable growing practices. Our camp sites are surrounded by 50+ acres of woods, meadow, farm fields and a spring-fed pond. The four campsites are placed out of direct line-of-sight from one another, giving you personal space and privacy. Natural beauty and wildlife abound - fall asleep to the hooting of owls and chirping of crickets, wake to the clucking of hens and scent of wild honeysuckle. We're far from any city lights, making for brilliant stargazing.

The Beech Grove site is set back in the woods near our main farm field, about 1/3 mile walk-in from the check-in/parking area. It features a 12x14 cabin-style canvas tent on a platform with a small deck outside the tent door. Inside the tent is a full-sized futon bed with cotton bedding and natural wool mattress topper for added comfort. There is room to add two folding cots or camping pads on the floor of the tent (bring your own or rent from us). This is a new site and is still a work in progress - we plan to add more furnishings and decor over time, for now the furnishings are sparse but functional & comfortable.

This site is ideal for couples, families or a small group of friends, with a maximum of four adult guests. Because of all the trees enclosing this site, there is not room to set up a second tent in the site.

We provide:
- All bedding for the full-sized bed in the tent
- 5 gallon jug of drinking water at your site
- Simple portable hanging camp shower bag (you fill & hang in your site)
- Two solar-powered camping lanterns
- One stack of firewood per night (extra may be purchased from us)
- Dishes & utensils for two - including a corkscrew!
- Charcoal grill, matches, grill utensils & grill chimney starter
- A hand-pulled wagon to tote your gear and use throughout your stay

You Should Bring:
- Charcoal for the grill
- A secure cooler & ice for storing your food. NO food may be stored inside the tent. We recommend a lock or bungie cord to keep the cooler safe from curious animals overnight.
- Ground pads, cots, sleeping bags, etc for guests over two
We have a small selection of coolers and other assorted camping gear available to rent if needed.

You'll also have shared use with the other campers of the central campground area which includes:
- clean port-a-potty with hand washing area
- small very simple camp kitchen with propane camping stove, coffeemaker, basic cookware, plus assorted card and board games
- Large open grassy areas with equipment provided for horseshoes, badminton, bocce, wiffle ball, and tractor-tire swing

Despite the additional luxuries of this site, it's important to recognize this is still camping and not a hotel! The campground is rustic and off-the-grid, which is part of the draw and enjoyment. There is no running water, no plumbing or showers, no electricity or wi-fi, and cell phone service may be spotty (guests have access to running water in the farm yard, 1/4 mile from camp sites). All sites are strictly walk-in - no private vehicles are allowed in the campground. It's a beautiful, natural space with a secluded and intimate feel.

Walk-in access to campsites only. No private vehicles permitted in campground. ~1/4-1/3 mile walk-in to campsites from parking area.

To fully experience your farm stay we invite you to explore and participate in farm activities. Meet friendly chickens in the farm yard, help with morning chores and harvest, walk through gardens, and hike the marked trails around the 52-acre property – all of this is included in your nightly rate!

On weekend mornings we offer farm breakfasts for an additional charge, featuring a variety of homemade baked goods and dishes prepared from homegrown, local, & organic ingredients. You can also purchase fresh homegrown produce, eggs, chicken, preserves, and more from our farmstand. We can put a dinner basket together for you to grill at your site with homegrown and locally-sourced ingredients.

For those who want a deeper level of engagement, we offer a variety of unique tours and homesteading workshops for an additional charge. Check the board in the barn to see what is going on each day, or ask us about customizing a tour or workshop for your group. We love to share our farm with others and welcome your requests.

We live in the farmhouse on the property, adjacent to the farm yard and 1/4 mile from the camping area. You will have privacy but we are available if you need us. This is a working farm, so you will see us around the property working. We welcome visitors' involvement in farm work.

Check in time is 3:00 pm, check out by 11:00 am. We strongly recommend arriving before dark the first night for smooth check-in.

The base price for this site is based on two adults. Up to a maximum of four adults can be accommodated ($10 per additional adult). We are family-friendly and there is no additional charge for children under 12 (don't include children in your number of guests or Airbnb will factor that into the reservation price - just tell us about them in your note so we know who is coming).

Sorry, pets are strictly not allowed at this site, no exceptions. Leashed pets may be allowed at Bramble or Pines Sites with advance permission.

We have two big old farm dogs who roam the property. They'll want to meet you when you arrive and may decide to escort you to your site until they see you are settled.

Rachel and Eric were lovely hosts! After our initial air bnb cancelled last minute, Rachel and Eric eased our worries by offering instant booking for their "glamping" site on their beautiful farm. The description of this site is extremely accurate. The farm itself is a gorgeous landscape filled with roaming chickens, turkeys, scenic walking trails, an abundance of freshly harvested vegetables, and plenty of space to feel secluded. The tent itself was tucked nicely amongst the trees which made it very quiet and peaceful. The tent offered everything we needed from solar powered lanterns, dainty white lights to illuminate the inside of the tent, a camping table, a stack of fire wood, a grill, a 5 gallon jug of clean water, a full sized bed, and even books and arts supplies for entertainment. Rachel and Eric were very thoughtful and hospitable. Despite hosting a harvest festival on their farm during our stay, they made us feel as welcomed and as comfortable as possible. Rachel let us take our pick of the crop of veggies for dinner that night on the grill as well as made us a lovely to-go breakfast the next morning. Eric took us on a nice hayride through their pumpkin patch and gave us some background on the farm. We were able to check out at our leisure and got great directions to a nearby waterfall and mountain site at Kaaterskill Falls. I could keep going but i think you all get the jist that this was a great stay! (no electricity of course but we didn't need it, we brought one rechargeable battery that we didn't even use) Highly recommend!

The property and airbnb is well run. They have it very organized from check in, to buying food from their farm stand to going on tours. The farm is super cool and the glamping experience is both private and social. The tent areas are very private but there's a area in the center with a community kitchen, community seating, volleyball net and just relaxation. The tents are well done. They are on a platform, have netting to keep bugs out and the bed is comfortable and warm. They even give you fire for your personal campfire. The kitchen in the common area is a little small but doable. They have a grill and some pots but I recommend bringing your own so you have everything you need and it's well cleaned (the kitchen stuff is still exposed to the elements bc it's a farm stay/campground). Overall, relaxing and fun experience! Def want to come back!

Rachel and Eric are wonderful hosts. The site was great. The farm was fun and the food was fresh.

Rachel and Eric were great hosts! We loved our stay! We were very cozy and warm in the tent despite the rainy weather. All amenities were clean and comfortable. We had fun playing badminton and swinging on the tire swing. We ordered a dinner box and it was delicious and convenient.

We had the best time!. Beautiful scenery, comfortable bed, soft sheets, lovely breakfast and a great family. It was hard for us to leave but we will be back. Thank you!

We had a wonderful time staying with Eric and Rachel on their lovely farm! Rachel and Eric were incredibly welcoming and generous with their time, in helping us get settled. Check-in was super easy, and we enjoyed being able to pick up some snacks and supplies at the farm stand upon arrival. Rachel very kindly took the time to put together a dinner basket for us, which we grilled on site that evening, and had ready helpful directions to some really fun swimming areas and trails close by. The tent was perfect -- super comfortable and cutely decorated, and equipped with everything we needed: clean and comfy bedding, lanterns, picnic table, grill, fire pit. We are campers, but it was really nice to not have to worry about setting up camp, and sleeping in the tent felt more like sleeping in a cabin. It was perfect for us. In the morning, we enjoyed an amazing farm breakfast courtesy of Rachel again! And we had a great time helping Eric with their CSA harvest. One of us is an experienced farmer and the other is not, and Eric patiently explained and demonstrated how to harvest various fruits and vegetables. He made the whole experience really fun and educational. It was very rewarding, in every way. We cannot wait to return, to visit Eric and Rachel and their lovely family again and to continue to learn about farm life!!!

Welcome to Foxtail Community Farm - our homestead and working organic farm in rural Greenville New York in the Great Northern Catskills. We love to share our farm with visitors, and invite you to visit for a unique camping farmstay.

On the rare occasion we are able to travel away from the farm, we love using Airbnb as a way to meet other hosts, stay in real neighborhoods, and avoid chain hotels. We are pretty self sufficient guests, as long as there is access to coffee!
