This apartment is a 2 bedroom / 1 bathroom on the first floor of a vintage 3-flat in the East Pilsen Arts District and is the home of a flower farmer and composer. We love offering it as a housing option to guests on Airbnb when we're gone working at the farm and guarantee professional cleaning with fresh linens and towels between every booking.
Over the last year, we've been renovating the apartment, but want to note that it might not be a good fit for people looking for hotel-level accommodations. All the basics are solid (hot water, good cooking set up, etc, but it's also got plenty of little quirks, weird old original trim and windows, etc. We're restoring it poco a poco. So far we've installed new french oak & tile flooring, removed walls to let in more light, added a large kitchen with stainless steel appliances (gas range and dishwasher) and a giant 10 ft quartz island.
Our style is a combination of vintage details, things we've collected while traveling and modern minimalism. The apartment walls host a rotating cast of works by our artist friends from all over the world.
The apartment doesn't have central air, but each bedroom has it's own AC window unit. The larger bedroom off the dining room has a firm memory foam mattress while the back bedroom mattress is softer.
Long-term tenants rent the apartment directly above on the second floor and are extremely kind and courteous.
You will have our entire apartment (1st floor). You're welcome to enjoy the huge backyard, side yard patio, grill, and fire pit (fire pit wood included, but you'll need to supply your own charcoal for the grill).
Parking: We decided not to build a garage because we fell in love with the huge yard. We've never had a problem finding street parking in the area if you're traveling by car.
Check in time is 4:00PM, and check out is 11:00AM. These times can sometimes be flexible depending on the arrival of other guests. If you need an earlier/later check out or check in, just ask. We'll accommodate if we can.
Owners will be available during your stay for recommendations, questions, etc.
Two cats live in the building (not in the unit). I just thought I'd mention it in case of extreme allergies.
This is mentioned above, but we wanted to reiterate that since we have a ton of great reads and there are always a million things to do in the city, the apartment doesn't have a TV.
- No Shoes in the house
- Please be courteous to our upstairs tenants and keep noise to a minimum after 11 PM
