Casa Minnewaska is a newly renovated modern rustic hillside home located on the border of 22,000 acres of untouched wilderness. Views of the Catskills and a long list of outdoor activities right in the backyard: climbing, fishing, hiking, swimming, skiing, snowboarding, snow shoeing, etc. And if you just want to stay at home you can relax in the hot tub, hang out on the deck or by the fireplace.
Only 2 hours from NYC, Casa Minnewaska is a bright 3BR house with wraparound deck sitting on 5 acres of gorgeous green property. Our house is perfect for any weekend getaway or vacation with family and friends. Year-round, guests can soak in the outdoor hot tub, stargaze from the porch and roast marshmallows around our secluded fire-pit with mountain views of the Catskills. You can walk through our backyard straight into Minnewaska State Park, home to hundreds of trails for hiking and some of the best climbing in the northeast. Spend the summer weekends, camping, hiking and grilling outside. During winter, enjoy nearby winter hiking, snowshoeing, or cross-country skiing.
We’re also a quick 20 min to the Shawangunk Mountains (or, the “Gunks”), famous among rock climbers—home to waterfalls like Verkeerderkill, Awosting, Buttermilk and VerNooykill. If fishing is your thing just walk down the driveway to the Rondout creek.
Two floors, 3 bedrooms—downstairs we have a full kitchen (and dishwasher!) and living room with Sonos speakers and a working woodstove.The bedroom downstairs has 2 full-size beds and two bedrooms upstairs—one with a queen and the other with king with ensuite bathroom and private balcony. Guests will find the home stocked with all the necessary amenities including towels, linens, and kitchen basics as well as toiletries. Forget something? Wal-Mart is 5 minutes away and you have quick access to a number of restaurants in Kerhonkson, Accord, High Falls, Stone Ridge, and Rosendale. New Paltz is just 25 minutes away.

Note: All Holiday weekends require a 3-night minimum to book. Due to higher demand and costs, we are unable to accomadate the shorter stay on these dates.
Please be respectful of our guest policy and let us know the number of guests ahead of time. If you expect additional guests after booking, just send us a quick message letting us know and we will do our best to accommodate.
1. Please do not sit on the hot tub lid, this can cause permanent damage.
2. Please always shower before entering the hot tub.
3. When you are not using the hot tub, please always close the lid. If it is left open the sun can cause the plastic to bubble.
4. If you use the hot tub, it is recommended you throw 1 ounce of the "Spa Shock Oxidizer" 15 minutes before use and leave the lid open to let the it air out. Both the chemicals and measuring cup are on the window sill in the laundry room.
Please inquire about bringing along your dog. Dogs must be pre-approved before they are allowed at the property. Bringing a dog without prior approval will result in in forfeiting your deposit. Please do not have your dogs on the furniture. Any damage will be the renter's full responsibility.
Fire Pit and Wood Stove:
Please never leave burning or smoldering logs unsupervised inside the house. Please pour water on the fire pit outside after use until the fire is completely out.
Please confirm the propane valve is turned off after use.
Please return keys to the lockbox at end of your stay. We will have to charge your deposit if keys are not returned the same day as check out.
We will remove any trash that fits in the trashcans that are found in the basement, any additional trash is the guest responsibility to bring home with you and dispose of properly/legally. There will be both recycling and regular trash bins to use. We are allotted a limited amount of trash a week at our local transfer station. We will have to charge a $50 trash overage fee if additional trash is left.
Though there are few neighbors around, please be considerate when using the outdoor speakers.
At the end of your stay, please leave all towels in the metal wire baskets provided and put all the dishes in the dishwasher. Please do not leave dishes in the sink.
Always check for ticks at the end of each day after spending time in the woods, this is really important. And keep a lookout for poison ivy when hiking. We usually have Tecnu around the house in case you are worried.
