This former downstairs dance studio has been turned into a beautiful, spacious hideaway in the western hills of Launceston. This two bedroom flat offers a perfect space from which to base during your time in Launceston and the Tamar region. Suitable for both business and pleasure travellers, the flat offers an expansive living area, light filled bedroom, kitchenette, bathroom and private entry. Quiet and private, The Bunker is a lovely place to stay when spending time in northern Tasmania.
The Bunker was the added advantage when we bought this place. The previous owners turned the former dance studio downstairs (plenty of tap shoe marks and history on the boards) into this one bedroom unit.
The living room is spacious, with plenty of places to sit and enjoy the sun, a large dining table and tv area and even plenty of space to do yoga.
The downstairs is all yours. There is front private access and your own door to the garden. The undercover car space is also for the guests.
We split our time between Launceston and the mainland so often we aren't there when we book the house out. If we are there, there is still plenty of privacy as the two floors are split by a private staircase. We are more than happy (where we are there or away) to introduce guests to beautiful Launceston and it's surrounds as well as recommendations for food, coffee, wine and the must see attractions in Tamar region.
One thing to note. The Bunker was made for the non basketball types. I fit happily at 6 foot 3, but those who hide things on the top shelf might get a little intimate with the roof.
Also, if you are coming in on the boat or have an early flight, don't hesitate to ask for an early check-in. We can generally always accommodate that as we know how good it is to arrive at your destination, dump your bags and get on with your adventures!!!!!
I'm Sam......I've been staying in people's places for a fair few years now as my job takes me all over the place. I've been lucky enough to meet some really good friends over the years and recently quite a few through AirBnB.
With the travel on hold and a place to call our own, we've decided to reverse the roles and welcome people into our place. I love meeting new people and seeing the world through the eyes of those travelling it.
