House, 4 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 12)
Enjoy the simple pleasures of your very own Vermont farmhouse at this four-bedroom Proctorsville retreat, a duplex with dog-friendly accommodations, sweeping mountain views, and a wonderful location close to Okemo Mountain Resort.
This historic farmhouse sits in the middle of an open, grassy meadow, with hillsides and forests in the distance that take on the colors of fall. You'll be right next door to Brook Farm Vineyards, five miles north of downtown Ludlow, and six miles northeast of the ski slopes and mountain bike trails at Okemo Mountain.
An ideal destination for two families or a group of friends, this duplex includes two adjoining rentals that can be rented together (through this listing) or separately. The Big Barn Farm (Lower Level) and the Big Barn Farm (Upper Level) each offer two bedrooms, one full bathroom, and space for six guests, allowing a total duplex occupancy of 12 people.
Begin your visit on the first floor, where you'll find a comfortable living room and large windows that overlook the property. Log onto the WiFi to send a few emails, catch the tail end of the Red Sox game on the flatscreen TV, and whip up a few game time snacks in the full kitchen with stainless steel appliances (including a dishwasher).
Upstairs, you'll find another open living space with soft carpeting and a bay window that faces the mountains. The upstairs sitting area, flatscreen TV, and full kitchen with a dishwasher allow you and your guests to enjoy as much privacy or togetherness as you like.
Spend your days outside, swinging in the hammock, going for long walks around the property, and playing with your dogs in the meadow. Please note, however, that a two-dog limit and a small nightly pet fee apply.
With a total of four bedrooms and two full bathrooms, this mountain view duplex will accommodate as many as 12 guests. On the first floor, you'll find a master bedroom with a queen-size bed, a guest room with a twin bunk bed, and a sleeper sofa in the living room. The upper level features one bedroom with a double bed and another bedroom with both queen and twin beds. You'll also find a washer/dryer on each level of the home.
Whether you're planning to photograph the fall foliage or get a taste of Vermont's famous winter sports, you'll find an ideal place to hang your hat in Proctorsville. Each winter, Okemo Mountain offers 121 trails for skiers and snowboarders, eight terrain parks, a tubing park, 20 lifts, a Nordic ski center, and a Ski and Ride School for the beginners in your group.
When the sun is shining in spring, summer, and autumn, you can tee off at the Okemo Valley Golf Club six miles southwest or hop on your mountain bike for a morning in the Evolution Bike Park at Okemo Mountain. Stop by Lake Rescue five miles west to search for biting trout and bass, or gaze at the scenic shoreline of Echo Lake at Camp Plymouth State Park four miles north.
There's no better time to plan a memorable trip to Vermont - enjoy your stay at this historic Proctorsville farmhouse!
