With a cottage hat & a large deck in the trees, you'll feel like you're in a tree house in the woods. (As we book up months in advance, if you would like a honeymoon retreat here, reserve our sweet Honeymoon Cottage).
We are located on Lake Victoria, a peaceful yet convenient location, only 25 minutes from the city. Shaded by the rich forest trees, you can enjoy all the splendors nature has to offer.
We have 30 acres of forest without fences so you will get to enjoy nature: just hang out on the deck, take a hike in the woods to the top of our mountain, watch the wide species of butterflies and birds, pet the monkeys, go to the beach or gaze at the stars - as long as the moon isn't full. ; )
To check our availability, click on the "Request to Book" link. And yes, if it isn't available, it is already booked! We do, however, occasionally get a cancellation, so if you want a date that's already booked, you can let us know and we will notify you of a cancellation. We have 3 cottages available that each have access to nature, a great view of the lake and lots of privacy. In addition to that we have self contained tents and non self contained tents for the adventurous campers. We also have luxury rooms without access to the lake.
(Please read all of this description before making a reservation request.)
As Saturdays are very much in demand, (and we like to be free on Saturdays), we require a minimum 2 day stay on the weekends. Keep in mind that Friday and Saturday nights are $120. each, starting March 2017. Therefore, to stay here on a weekend will cost $240. Plus 12% ($34) that airbnb will charge you. So the total for the weekend will be about $274.
On 3 day holidays, we require a 3 day reservation.
Check-in time is between 10am and 5pm. This is the only time the boats will be able to transport guests to the resort. Check-out time is 10am.
Although it feels very isolated here, we are less than 30 minutes to Munyoyo where you will find stores, restaurants, a theater, clubs, etc.
One of the attractions that we take for granted is that you can see stars here at night - unless there is a bright moon or clouds.
If you love birds, bring your camera! Our forest is the year-round home to many species of birds. (We usually have about 250-500 year-round).
Some cell phones don't work here, but since we have free wifi in the restaurant, if your phone works with a wifi network, you are good to call.
To learn about activities available, please give us a call. They range from volley ball, swimming, nature walks, hiking, biking, canoeing, bird watching, and are constantly increasing.
Dogs are sadly not welcome due to the nature of the forest.
If you are bringing a small child, we can add a baby coat to your bedroom. If you have 2 children then we can add a bunker bed. Just let us know ahead of time. Keep in mind, though, that a child should not be left in the cottage by themselves as the bed is fairly high.
Guests are free to access any part of the resort with one of our resort guides
We almost always interact with our guests. We love to make them feel welcome and at home, show them the resort and share our knowledge of the great places to go in our beautiful area. Let us know if you don't want to interact with us and we will leave you alone quickly. ; )
