This is a private bedroom in our home with a private entrance and parking next to the room. You are also welcome to park on the street. It has one Queen size bed, a desk, a TV stand, a TV with a DVD player, wifi, clean linens and towels, access to the laundry room, and access to the kitchen for coffee, tea, and storing anything in the fridge. The house is in a great location for walking downtown, to parks, and to the the Hood River Heights restaurants, bars, & stores. (NEW AC INSTALLED!)
You will have access to the bedroom through the backyard and can lock the door for privacy. There is also private parking in the alleyway right next to the bedroom. It's a prime location for walking or riding your bike pretty much everywhere. I am happy to make any suggestions and have lived in the area for over 8 years. Please do note that this is a private bedroom in our home and I live in the main house and my two daughters live here half of the week. We are out of the house most of the day and quiet at night. We also love company and if you want to come into the main house for a visit, we are always happy to chat with you! We will also give you your privacy. You will have access to the guest bathroom which is located in the main house. If we have another guest in the office room, it is shared with that guest. That is not very often though. You access the bathroom through the living room and down the hallway. I leave the hallway light on at night in case you need to get up in the middle of the night. :)
You are welcome to use the laundry room, kitchen, and are very welcome to visit with us in the main house. We are out and about most of the time and even stay in Portland some nights, but you are still welcome to hang out in the dining room or kitchen area. Call anytime with questions about the area! NOTE: The bathroom is in the main house, not directly attached to the room. This is a private room in our home, not an entire home rental, with access to the rest of the house for hanging out and cleaning up. If you are new to AirBnb and you aren't sure of the difference between whole home rentals and private bedrooms, we are always happy for you to reach out to us beforehand with any questions. We want to be sure it's the right fit for YOU. We remember when we were first figuring out AirBnb as guests too. ;)
I live in the main house with my two girls and two dogs, but am often out and about during the day. I am readily available to answer any questions and love chatting, but also respect your privacy.
Two dogs live in the backyard and love people. You are welcome to bring your dogs as well. They may need a formal introduction, but they get along with pretty much any dog after initially getting a chance to meet and sniff and do whatever dogs do to get used to each other. :) My kids live in the main house with me part-time as well, so there are kids things in the main house. It's not a suitable spot for parties. Our neighbors are super nice and considerate, so we like to return the favor. :) UPDATE: Thanks to a generous donation, the room now has its own AC unit. YAY!
We are LGBTQ+ friendly.
We have a garage close to the room if you need to temporarily store any recreational equipment such as bikes, kite boards equipment, windsurfing gear, kayaks, etc.
The room is as pictured with slightly different bedding each time. That's because we change everything out and clean the floor and room after each guest so everything you use has been freshly washed just for you! The carpet is not the prettiest carpet in the world, so we have pretty rugs. :-) Both are cleaned each time and is also shampooed regularly, which is more than will happen in most hotels. There's clean and there's "looking clean." We take pride in the fact that we actually clean and change everything out.
