Picturesque, comfortable, one bedroom cottage ideal for couple. Gay Friendly.
Bedroom (queen bed), lounge (+fridge and microwave), bathroom.
Located in beautiful Bowral in the glorious Southern Highlands.
This lovely little self-contained Garden Cottage in Bowral is set behind a 1920s house. The cottage itself has been recently renovated to the highest standards. It comprises one bedroom with a queen bed and plenty of hanging space; a lounge room with a couch, Netflix, desk, fridge and microwave, toaster, tea and coffee making facilities; and a modern bathroom with shower, vanity and toilet. The cottage is light and airy, and has a reverse cycle air conditioner/heater.
It is ideal for a romantic getaway, and artist’s retreat or just a peaceful getaway in the heart of the superb Southern Highlands.
The French doors open onto a delightful garden. In summer, the roses surround the doors and the scent of the garden drifts in. In spring, the blossoms on the fruit trees create a delightful fragrance. In autumn, the changing colours of the seasonal leaves add their own special beauty to your stay—and in winter, the cosy cottage will keep you snug and warm, even if there is frost outside.
The cottage sleeps 2 in the bedroom. You have internet access and on-street parking in a very quiet street.
Your hosts are Alan, his husband, Taras, and their two (well behaved) Jack Russell cross rescue dogs, Indy and Sam.
Towels, shampoo and toiletries are complementary, and you can arrange with Alan to use the laundry in the house when he is home.
A breakfast hamper can be provided, but for a few dollars extra, Alan will cook a magnificent breakfast for you—and it would be a real shame to miss his excellent cooking.
Access to the cottage is down a well-lit path between the house and the garage.
Guests have the use of the cottage and the garden, and may use the laundry in the house (with prior arrangement with Alan.)
We ask that guests are extra careful closing the gates, because Indy and Sam will take any opportunity to go for walks on their own.
Alan is now a landscape designer, and mostly works from home, so he’ll be available to answer your questions, give you advice about the area and generally see to your wellbeing. He is available on the phone at any time. He can also cook you a breakfast to die for.
However, the cottage is quite separate from the house, and after he has welcomed you, shown you the access details and handed over the key, you can be as secluded as you wish.
- • Please let us know if you will be returning after 10.30pm so the path lights can be set to stay on.
I am British by birth, Australian by choice. I'm originally from the Midlands in the U.K. and have lived in Australia since 2010. I have worked as a chef, and still enjoy having friends and family round for dinner parties. I worked as an accountant in London and also studied garden design. I worked as a volunteer gardener for the English National Trust in Osterley, West London. Since arriving in Australia I have run my own garden design business from home. My interests include reading, travelling, visiting historic houses and gardens, collecting art and antiques.
