We are in a little Village, its hard to find our place as the village does not have street signs. But once you book, we will give full maps and GPS locations, and can meet you at the village entrance.

The extra large bedroom has a king size bed and a desk perfect for a laptop. There is a ladder to a sleeping loft with double bed for 2 people.

The bathroom, is a dry bathroom to maintain the harmony and care of nature.

Once you have parked, there is a 30 meter path to the cottage.

An enchanted cabin that looks like a cross between a Hobbit house and an earth ship. We had a lovely stay: the dogs came to visit every day as did the birds and the butterflies, along with a curious cat. We cooked, hiked to the art center, drank mezcal with the locals, and even saw a film near the Templo (a small cafe was running a "Tom Hanks retrospective"?!) Make sure to visit the Paper Factory and Casa De Las Artes up the hill. You can take the many hidden hiking paths around the village and get lost a bit among the canals and the greenery. In short, the place was cozy and clean and Danitza and Oscar were great hosts. They left us a care package with some morning essentials (coffee and chocolate). We slept soundly to the sounds of a peaceful creek every night.

Laura and Mark have passed the Cozy Cobb Cottage on to Oscar and Danitza who have changed the name to Spring and Mountain Cabin. We are a family of 4 with two teenage boys (13,15), this was our first trip to Mexico and we wanted to have an experience staying in a smaller (quieter) village near to Oaxaca. We were thrilled with our experience staying with Oscar and Danitza. The cottage is very unique. It sits behind Oscar and Danitza's larger round cob house tucked into the hillside next to a stream. It is quaint, comfortable and private. Morning coffee on the deck with the sounds of birds and the water- It doesn't get much better. There is great walking around the village and several local markets to buy food. We felt very safe and comfortable as we explored the area. Oscar and Danitza were always available to answer questions, give travel advice and even share a little Mezcal. We will be back! If you do rent a car go with a compact, some streets are narrow with tight corners.

We loved our stay at the cottage and visiting the state of Oaxaca. Using the colectivos was easy once we got the hang of it, and very affordable. We loved the little cottage - the only thing that we didn't enjoy were the spiders and bugs. They were harmless, (and kind of inevitable, not at all the hosts fault), but just a warning for those who hate bugs. It was a very relaxing stay, a lovely little town, and very friendly people.

Although we only had the pleasure of seeing Laura once, Mark was a wonderful host, helping us to feel welcome in their cozy cob house and orienting us to the local community. We enjoyed our conversations with him and the several outings we went on with him~ We arrived to find fresh local tortillas, cheese, fruit fixings for making salsa, beer and wine, too. This is a very sweet community. GORGEOUS setting, sweeping views. Do NOT miss visiting CASA, the renovated muslin factory now a center for the arts. We did not have a car. Easy to use the collectivos.

Mark and Laura were fantastic hosts and we LOVED staying at their cottage. I was there with my two best friends and we were needing retreat and adventure. We got both! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Very peaceful. Huge house surrounded by forest, small river and small mountain. All conditions are very good. Regret we can stay just few days. The place is perfect to stay and relax for a week at least. Hope we can come back one day.

the hosts were superb- lovely gentle kind- people just the best - we feel so lucky to have met them and wish we had had more time at their place - the place is stunning - relaxed and peaceful and very comfortable - the attention to detail and design is amazing - they left us lots of goodies to cook with and really made it feel like a home away from home coulnt be more cozy their son is adorable and was a treat to talk to as well the whole experience made me fall in love with that Etla area- we walked the town to the arts center which was closed sadly and the great paper store beautiful and the church and saw the fantastic views from above -we also got a massage from laura and that was fantastic- I cant speak any higher of the people or the place! they are the best
