This house is located five minutes from downtown Ann Arbor and 10 minutes from both University of Michigan Central Campus and University Hospital. The living room features skylights, a picture window, and fireplace. The kitchen is well equipped. There are two TVs with cable and Netflix. WiFi works throughout the house. There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Two desks are available, one of which is appropriate for use with a computer, with a lowered deck for the keyboard.
Guests rent the main floor, which consists of about 1700 square feet. There are two bedrooms, one of which has a tuned piano and TV. The master bedroom is furnished with a queen sized bed with a Tempur-pedic mattress, providing good back support. The bed in the second bedroom is a double which also has a Tepur-pedic matress. The large dining room features an antique piano and a treadle sewing machine. Much of the furniture was imported from Ghana, Africa. The fireplace opens into both the living room and the dining room. The living room has a large TV and a picture window from which you can watch the wildlife such as deer, birds, squirrels, groundhogs and raccoons. The sofa bed is located in the living room. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking, including pots and pans, coffee pots, toaster, rice cooker, slow cooker, stove, oven, and dishwasher. . Behind the house is a large deck equipped with a grill, a table, a swing, a fountain , and chairs for lounging. An additional deck on the front of the house is also furnished.
Washer and dryer located in the basement are available for guest use. The rest of the walkout basement is closed to guests. There is a permanent tenant who lives in the basement and our son has an office there which he uses on weekdays. The tenant and our son have their own separate entrance, so you will see very little of them. There is a locked office on the main floor unavailable to guests.
We will be staying at our cottage in Whitmore Lake which is a 15 minute drive away. If needed, we can come by to help with any issues that may arise. The gentleman who lives in the basement is a native of the Ann Arbor area. He will be available to provide information and answer questions if desired.
There is a Black Labrador Dog who lives in the house. She is usually gone with us, but occasionally the downstairs tenant looks after her. She does not enter the upstairs rental apartment when guests are present.
Quiet after 11PM.
