HOUSE RULES AND ADVICE
Welcome to our home! Here is some useful information that will help you during your stay with us.
Cooking and Kitchen Utensils:
We love our kitchen and hope you do to! Please DO NOT put hot pots and pans on the countertop – any damages will be charged against your credit card via Airbnb. In the drawers either side of the cooker you will find cutlery, foil etc. Please use what you need and wash your dishes. If we are not here please wash the dishes and leave them clean on the drying rack.
Always open the kitchen door that leads to the balcony if you are cooking “smelly” food and ensure it is closed if you leave the apartment. Please feel free to use the salt and pepper on the side as you wish, for any other seasonings please ask first.
You can use the cooker if you want to eat in, please be careful and make sure all switches are turned off when you’re finished.
Bathroom and Toilet:
Shower: The shower can get very hot so please be careful and make sure you put the right temperature. Move the handle left for hot and right for cold.
Please open the shower curtain and door after you have showered to let the steam out.
Toilet: Please do not flush anything apart from toilet paper and sanitary material in the toilet. Please leave the toilet clean, as we are sharing our home it is best we are all as clean and tidy as possible
No smoking is permitted inside the apartment. At no point will we accept any smoking inside the apartment. This is an old historic building and it is against the building rules to smoke indoors; per Swiss law fines can be issued for smoking indoors.
Washing Machine , Dryer and Dishwasher:
For guests staying longer than 6 nights we offer use of our washing machine and dryer once per 6 nights stay. If you qualify for this use please ask and we will explain how to use it in advance. If we are not her, please contact us and we will be able to explain.
DO NOT turn on the washing machine and dryer at the same time! Only one appliance can be on at any moment. This is important as the pipes supplying the water and electricity can break!
Please see the information pack for the local tram times. If you need a taxi the number is (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN). If you want to avoid roaming charges, we can pre book a taxi for you. Just ask us in advance.
Check in and Check out:
Time: We have flexible check in and check out times. The only thing we ask is that you clear your things from the room by 11:30 am so the cleaner can prep the room for the next guest. Our building is safe however we cannot take responsibility for your belongings. Alternatively you can use lockers in the main station for a few francs.
Keys: Please leave the key to one of the Hosts, if we are not here then please put it in the envelope provided and put it in our post box on the ground floor.
No additional guests will be allowed into the apartment unless otherwise stated before arrival. Also no pets or animals are allowed in the apartment at any time.
Please let us know if you have accidently broken anything, we understand accidents happen!
Pictures of the room and apartment have been taken prior to your arrival. We expect things to be left in the way you found them. Any damages or missing items will be reported to Airbnb and/or the authorities in the event of any criminal activity.
The Canton of Vaud has a list of rules per Commune that every resident must abide by. As you are a guest we are obligated to inform you of these rules:
Noise: The law of Vaud recalls that excessive noise is prohibited at all times. This rule must be obeyed more strictly between 22:00 and 07:00 because "excessive" noise is all the more apparent at night. As the Swiss Civil Code also points out, excessive noise is no more permissible within our own four walls than outside.
Recycling drop-offs can be easily found all over Vaud neighbourhoods and communes. There, you can recycle the basics: glass bottles divided into white and darks (brown/green). Please use the trash provided in your room and in the kitchen – if you need it emptied please let us know
Note: If you leave any glass bottles or plastics in a plastic bag we can take them to the recycling area, just let us know
