Joe was a good host! He was very quick to respond to my messages and made my first airbnb experience a good one. The photos of the apartment are very similar to what you get. There was a bit of a musty smell when first entering the home but it was not overwhelming. The home was otherwise very clean.
My mom and I went to Atlanta to visit my daughter and see the eclipse. The location was perfect for seeing my daughter, only about a half mile away. Joe's place is in the Historic Old Fourth Ward, and my daughter is next to Ponce City Market. The place is pretty small, with just a living room, bedroom, and kitchen. The kitchen has all the appliances you might expect, including a washer/dryer, and also utensils and dishes. Joe left fresh bananas, protein bars, orange juice, milk, and an assortment of beverages and beer in the fridge. We mostly ate out, but it was nice having something to get going in the morning. There was always an open parking space near our door, so we never had to park down the street and trek back. I had rented a Ford Fusion, the small size of which made parking around Atlanta much easier. There's a tv in the bedroom, but not in the living room. We weren't there to watch tv though! Also, the master bed has a memory foam mattress, which was comfortable. My mom slept on the smaller living room bed. The neighborhood seemed safe, and was mostly quiet, with occasional party sounds that couldn't be heard in the bedroom, and in any case never went on for long, nor late into the night. Overall Joe was a good host, and I'd definitely stay there again.
Great location near the Ponce Market and a short drive from downtown. Joe is a great communicator and was very responsive to all questions/issues that came up. He keeps it very clean and provided OJ,milk, beer, seltzer and snacks. We're a family of four and had enough space for sleeping, though there was only a small table/desk with one chair, so nowhere we could sit down and eat together. Other than this, I highly recommend it as a great place to stay in Atlanta.
