Geat sunny bedroom available in a 2-bedroom Williamsburg walk-up. Excellent location surrounded by restaurants and bars, but on a quiet block, in a quiet, *mature* building. We're on the 4th floor with the best views and limited exposure to both traffic and millennial street annoyances. The Montrose L stop is just two blocks away past cafes like Dunwell Doughnuts.
Windows overlook a cathedral built in 1841 with an opening onto a fire escape/balcony. It gets great natural light (with black out curtains). This isn't a new condo covered in subway tiles, it's an old school walk-up, but our rooms have high ceilings, twice the height of most. You won't be sharing the apt with 3 other people either -- just one (and no shared walls, partial walls, or thin walls here). We're right on the edge of Williamsburg, with one foot in Bushwick, so you get the best of both worlds -- everything you could want right nearby, including cafes, bars, hot restaurants, and still have a quiet place to sleep/work/relax.
Large room and everything in it is yours to enjoy, including high speed 50MBPS wi-fi (even faster hard line connection provided too), a desk and ergonomic chair, hi-def monitor to plug into (no TV though), a deluxe double bed with optional memory foam topper (certified non-toxic, certipur), books, records, turntables, terrariums, rare maps, great lighting and floor space big enough to practice yoga.
This is an old building, not one of the new McCondos going up around the neighborhood with subway tiled spice racks. However, there is a stocked kitchen with gas stove, full-sized fridge, French press, spices, pro knives and cookware, dishware, glassware, etc, are readily available (you'll have your own cabinet and shelves).
You'll share the apartment with one other lovely person (bedrooms on opposite ends) so there could be interaction, especially in the kitchen. Other times you will have the space to yourself.
Preference goes to monthly+ stays. Usually rent to friends of friends, so please tell a little about yourself when inquiring. Negotiations can be made for special situations etc, but no couples or cats. I do ask for a small *refundable* deposit after having to replace a broken appliance due to renter carelessness.
Not looking for a couple, there's a nice balance of privacy and quiet here. No smoking inside the apartment. I keep the hours of a 30-something with a girlfriend -- no super late nights, no loud noise, and no surprises! Small pets might be negotiable.
First time using Airbnb, but long time subleaser / subleasee. I'm easy on most things so if you need an extra day or need to have something stored for a time, just ask! I've never had a bad experience and have met some great people, simply by having a spare room (or needing one)!
I'm a freelance writer, map collector, record player, internet addict, and wine enthusiast. If not with my girlfriend, I keep mostly to myself with the aforementioned, or am out experiencing Brooklyn with friends and co-workers.
