Spacious, lots of natural sunlight, garden, adjoining rooms and privat bathroom. Breakfast included. Near by the old part of the town with a magnificient monumental heritage. 1.5 km from the Golden Coast, a lively Mediterranean beach. Ideal for families and pets.
Our lovely house is spacious and inspired in the traditional catalan construction, Masia. There is a beautiful garden with many privat corners and where we grow our own vegetables.
In the guests' room there are brand new comfrotable mattress, lots of natural light and a privat bathroom with an enormous shower.
From the balconies and roof of the house you can see the Mediterranean sea and a castle built in the XI century.
Most tourist facilities are concentrated above all in the old fishing neighbourhood, named La Platja or beach, at 1,5 km from the house with a 5 Km of fine sandy beach and promenade. There there are a large selection of shops, bars, restaurants, discos, wineries, banks, pharmacies and medical centers.
There is a wellness- center offering thalasso therapeutics therapies, swimmingpool and gyms.
The town is very family friendly. In 2006 Calafell won the Family Holiday Destination award created by the Catalan Tourist Board. This award recognize Calafell as a tourist town in resources and offering quality services especially for families.
You can do activities as Nordic walking, golf, mini golf, fitness classes on the beach, football, basketball, skating, sailing, surfing, catamaran rental, stand up paddle, tennis and horse ridding. And for nature lovers and sports, Tourism Calafell has created a guide to hiking and mountain biking.
Calafell's monumental heritage it is worth highlighting the medieval castle, the Romanesque church of Santa Creu, from the Lombardic age -11th century- and with remains of mural paintings in the apse. The house is located next to the church and castle. Also worth visiting the Iberian village of Les Toixoneres (5th to 2nd centuries BC), which is currently known as the Iberian Citadel of Calafell and which has been rebuilt and the atmosphere reconstructed so that visitors can conjure up the civilization which inhabited the area 2,500 years ago.
The superb geographical location of Calafell, with its excellent transport connections and its numerous social and cultural attractions, make Calafell an excellent place to visit.
WORTH VISITING outside Calafell
1. BAIX PENEDÉS. The Penedés region is well known not only for its famed cava production (Spanish sparkling wine), but also for its rich variety in white and red wines. The landscape in the Penedés is warm and gentle, bathed in a golden Mediterranean light, and marked by the many civilizations that passed through or settled the area. Thus, the region is also a place of fascinating historical wealth, traceable through the architectural landmarks left behind by ancient Romans, medieval monks and modernist masters.
2. TARRAGONA. Also known as 'the Balcony of the Mediterranean' is, owing to the Romans, arguably the most elegant city of the Iberian peninsula. The Roman ruins of Tarragona have been designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
3. EL VENDRELL. In Vendrell (Sant Salvador de Coma-Ruga, 10 minutes by car) you could visit the Pau Casals Auditorium where there’re concerts of classis music, jazz, etc., and where you could visit the Museum of the great artist from Catalonia.
4. AMUSEMENT PARKS: Port Aventura & Aqualeon.
5. BARCELONA. Oh! Barcelona well must be seen since you have a train every 30 minuts.
6. SITGES. Recognized as one of the most charming and lovely towns and prestige of the Catalan coast.
Sitges is known for the International Film Festival, Sitges Carnival, local Festivities, Theatre Festival, Vintage, Gay Pride, concerts ... Its cultural and artistic, its extensive and varied range of activities throughout the year and its intense nightlife, justify a visit, which promises to be unforgettable. A few minutes from the city of Barcelona
7. MONTSERRAT. Montserrat is located near the city of Barcelona. "Montserrat" literally means "jagged (serrated) mountain" in Catalan. It describes its peculiar aspect with multitude of rock formations, which are visible from a great distance. It is well known as the site of the Benedictine abbey, Santa Maria de Montserrat, which hosts the dark skinned Virgin of Montserrat ("La Moreneta") sanctuary and which is identified by some with the location of the Holy Grail in Arthurian myth.

I'm a very curious person and world citizen. I'm also a loving friend of my life partner and a caring mother of the most wonderful girl I've ever met. I work as a teacher and my partner is flute player and teacher also. I really enjoy trying new food and wandering in hidden places.
Now our child is a little bit grown up we're willing to travel again but now with her. We like to stay in small towns and human size cities. We don't like travelling with a lot of previous information but let us amaze by that precise place and time.
As guests we always do our best to be kind, speak honestly and respect the peace and rules of our hosts. As hosts we hope to get treated the same way back.
