Our 2 Bedroom/1 Bath unit is oceanfront, on the point at Waimea Bay. Designated parking stall is at your front door. This exclusive property is perfect for 2 couples or a family of 4 who just want to kick back in the front yard, cruise at the nearby sandy beaches or adventure out to explore the North Shore and beyond. This is our family home, not a typical vacation rental, and we love to "talk story" and share our knowledge of Hawaii, the North Shore, and this lifestyle we love.
This property has front row seats to The Eddie big wave surf contest and awesome Hawaiian sunsets. Enjoy your morning coffee or evening dinner under the patio tent as whales, sailboats and paddlers glide by. If you love to cook, our kitchen has a full-size refrigerator/freezer, micro-wave, blender, coffee maker, toaster, and an assortment of pots and pans, dishes, glasses, coffee cups and utensils. Paper towels, dish soap, sponge and dishtowels are provided. Sleeping arrangements: A Queen size bed in each bedroom with bedding for both. Bathroom: One bathroom with shower, towels, starter toilet paper, soap and shampoo.
For your use: washer/dryer, laundry basket & drying rack at the back door. Clothespins, laundry soap pods & dryer sheets are in the kitchen drawer. 50" screen TV in the living room & WiFi accessible.
Beaches: 3 minute walk - Three Tables to the North, Waimea Bay to the South. Front yard: Grassy yard and covered patio area with tables and chairs. SMOKERS: There is NO smoking in the unit, but we will allow smoking under the tent in the front yard if no one else is occupying the space, and as long as you are downwind of the buildings. Rocky shoreline: If you have good balance, you may use the wooden stairs along the wall to the rocks. Proceed at own risk! Do NOT access if there's any swell action. This shoreline is protected by the Hawaii Marine Life Conservation District, so nothing may be taken... no fish, shells, rocks, seaweed...nothing! Pole fishing is allowed as long as you are casting your line INTO Waimea Bay.
We love to talk about our favorite places, activities and foods to eat here on the North Shore, but if you prefer to adventure on your own, you'll find lots of information in the Guest Book. Some activities/places to see within a mile radius is Sharks Cove for summer time tide pool exploration and winter time surf watching; the Heiau in Pupukea which looks over Waimea Bay and the North Shore coastline; and Waimea Valley for nature lovers.
In the summer, we have the best view for the Fourth of July Annual Paddleboard race that starts from Sunset Beach and ends right here in Waimea Bay! From November to May, you can whale-watch from the yard or along the coastline. In the winter, front row seats to spectacular monster waves and if it's 40' surf, they may run the Invitational Eddie Contest honoring legendary Hawaiian surfer and lifeguard, Eddie Aikau. The holding period for the 33rd annual contest is December 1, 2017 - February 28, 2018.
Keiki (children) are always welcome, with the understanding that children are never to be left alone in the unit or on the property. There is no fencing along the front lawn and retaining wall which has only rocks below. Also, moving vehicles on the property and a busy highway at the top of the driveway may pose safety concerns.
Quiet time is 9 pm to 8 am.
My siblings and I live on and maintain this property at Waimea Bay Pointe. We are the third generation of our family working, playing, and living on the North Shore alongside our 4th & 5th generations. Though much has changed along this 7 mile coastline, we still enjoy and want to share this piece of paradise with those who are humbled by its natural beauty, respectful of the local culture and using its resources with deep appreciation.
