Located in a quiet rural setting this apartment has its own kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and entrance. There is a queen sized bed. The laundry and table tennis is in an indoor shared patio. Garden views are seen through most windows. There is a wood heater.
The apartment is in a house in the country that has been divided into two apartments, this is the one bedroom apartment with garden views, The other apartment has three bedrooms and sea views. They are both completely separate.
The quiet rural setting is peaceful. Mature gardens surround the house and parking is 5 meters from entrance door with level access. It is approximately a 15 minute drive to Burnie on the North West Coast of Tasmania.
The gardens can be explored, and table tennis is available in the covered patio. There is garden all around the house with flowers such as roses, herbs, and a grassed area. It depends on the season as to what is in flower or producing. January and February there are blueberries available. May is for kiwi fruit. November is strawberries.
We enjoy meeting guests and hearing about their experiences. It is always interesting to hear why they are visiting this part of Tasmania and what areas they like best. We have many brochures on what there is to explore in the area, such as feature gardens, caves, and a wildlife park. The beach at Heybridge is 2.6 kilometres from us. There is complimentary cheese tasting at the Burnie information centre. Some guests like to be private and we respect that also.
Public transport is not available where we live. The closest bus stops about 1 kilometre from our place and there is a steep hill between so it is best to have your own transport. The property is 9 acres and we live in a separate house on the same property as the apartments. It is a rural area and there is a dairy farm across the road from this property.
Enjoying every day in the garden is wonderful, as so many temperate climate plants grow here. No pesticides or fertilizers are used, cardboard and mulches do a lot of the weed control. Hopefully our walnut trees will produce nuts, and the apple trees look good this year. November is roses asparagus and strawberry time, December is blueberries and snow peas. There is always something flowering or producing. Music is also important to us. Favourite days are spent in our workshop patio making stained glass windows, mobiles and mosaics. We like to share time with our guests if they wish, and have also the ability to let them have their own space and privacy if that is their desire.
