Caroline's place was wonderfully located -- very easy to get on the train, lots of good restaurants and easy access to groceries, and safe feeling when walking around (we were out and about at various times 7am-10pm). Very easy to find/get to. For that - 5+ stars. For her communication and willingness to try to accommodate a late-checkin -- again, 5 stars. Some notes about things we noticed (not complaints, but notice about the apartment): Walls were reasonably thick as we heard a small bit of noise from stepping on floors and stairs, but very little voice or other such noise. Bed feels like a futon mattress - my husband liked it a lot as he likes it firm, but it was too firm for me and I had to sleep on the folded comforter (on the mattress). This is clearly a lived-in apartment (vs. other airbnbs I've been in which are or at least feel like a hotel room) ... which is fine, but can feel a little weird. No microwave and the stairs are standard narrow NY stairs -- both of which are not issues so long as you are forewarned. And apartment does have AC and several fans so temperature was fine. Finally, I'll note that one of her neighbors smoked weed after (we assume) getting off from work -- and the smell comes through the bathroom vent. Not an issue (it's not strong or bothersome), just an explanation if you note the odor and wonder where that's coming from.
