Mayfield Cottage is self-contained. We live in the main house next door which adjoins the cottage accommodation. At least one of us is home pretty much the whole time and guests can ask us questions whenever they like by knocking on our door or phoning us at any time during their stay.
Water - Bermuda has a very unique water supply system, where much of our water is collected on our white limestone roofs and stored in the large tanks beneath our homes. It is perfectly safe to drink straight out of the tap. All that makes water a very precious commodity especially when the rain doesn't come! We ask our guests to please be extra careful with water usage during their stay.
On arrival we welcome you with Bermuda’s signature cocktail – a ‘Dark ‘n Stormy’ (featuring Gosling’s Bermuda Black Seal Rum and Ginger Beer) to get your holiday started.
Wi-Fi throughout. There is an HDMI cable to hook up your laptop to the Smart TV.
We are a subtropical island, so some please keep dishes clean, store food in the refrigerator or airtight containers as much as possible so as to avoid ants, etc. and place trash in appropriate containers so that ants and any other pests are not attracted.
When leaving the property, securely lock doors and switch off lighting, small appliances, AC and water to conserve energy and resources.
- Check out by 12 noon please
- Please conserve water, it is very precious in Bermuda and comes from the rainfall we collect on our roofs
- Please switch off the air conditioner and lighting when you go out and when you leave.
Michael’s father built Mayfield House in the 1930s, so we have a long sentimental attachment to our home. Until he retired, Michael worked most of his life as Restaurant Manager at the luxury, Fairmont Southampton hotel. Tina is originally from the UK but she moved to Bermuda to also work in hospitality in the 1980s. We have lived in Paget for about 30 years and we love it because it is so convenient for Hamilton, the beaches and the railway trail. When we recently upgraded Mayfield Cottage we tried to keep in mind all the things we like to have when we go away on vacation and we hope that you find it as comfortable as we have tried our best to ensure that you will. From the moment you arrive we want you to instantly feel like you can relax and breathe easy knowing you will be able to enjoy Bermuda while not spending a fortune.
