The Chalet has 3 units. The AirBnB is the entire upstairs space. It offers you a comfortable break from all the busyness and noise. A private, very spacious yet cozy room in the hills and trees of Nelson, NH. Nearby Center Pond is a great place to paddle without a lot of effort. The pond is only 33 acres but people come from far and wide to fish and take in the quiet (no motors). Nelson is a quiet, sweet little town with lots of dirt roads to walk and a friendly, welcoming community.
A Swiss style chalet located in the hills of southern New Hampshire! The space is a large open room, it offers spectacular natural light and a high ceiling with tremendous beams. The wrap-around balcony is a lovely place to enjoy your morning coffee. It is elegant but it also feels like a cabin in the woods.
The entire upstairs is one large room. The 1600 square feet of space offers a kitchen area, a living room area and two bedroom areas. There is a full bathroom. Wifi is provided. There is a grill for your use on the balcony. Coming soon: a path to the pond and a canoe for your use.
I want to answer that I am available when needed but I do not live in town. I am generally pretty reachable. We can be reached through AirBnB or by phone if there is something you need help with. I also have people in town who I can send to help in case of a problem.
A few things to note before booking:
During the month of July, a summer program for kids ages 8-12 is held daily in the barn on the property from 8am-4pm on Weekdays. Expect to hear songs and laughter!
Also although the property is on Center Pond, direct access is somewhat limited. The public access is easy and less than 5 minutes by car or a short walk away.
Some mobile phones work at the Chalet, others just won't.
- Quiet after 9 please
- No shoes in the house please
- One parking space is available, additional parking on the road
- No fires in the fireplace
- Please leave the books in the shelves. They are mostly old books. Many are quite fragile. Also they are not mine so please just appreciate them in place.
The owners are Owen and Kate. Owen grew up in Nelson right next to the Chalet. Kate grew up in Delaware. We met in 2013 and Married in 2015. We love gardening and travel and wish we had more time for both! The Chalet has been in Owen's family since it was built by his grandparents in the 1950s. We bought it in 2016 because we wanted to see it stay in the family. It is already a lovely and charming place and we have plans for many fun improvements. We hope you will love your first stay so much that you will keep coming back again and see our progress!
